Interesting to see Estocks advocating a strut brace to cure tramlining. My V reg 2 litre tramlined like crazy when I bought it but I knew it needed tyres. One set of tyres and new (standard) rear swing arm bushes later and all trace of tramlining was gone. However the car does not feel as 'planted'...

Just to give you an update on my roof saga...phoned BM and I could only get an entire new hood from them which is £1600 + vat and fitting! So I have phoned a local body shop to see if they can weld the broken piece back together, they need to see it so I'm taking it there tomorrow. Hopefully they c...

Re: Z3 purchased recently - advice needed
Yes. Strut brace will sort that. Etech (~£115), StrongStrut (~£300), Cosmo (~£115) are all tried and tested.zeup wrote:tends to tram line and a little unnerved on bends with poor surface. Is this normal.

The hood is in no way related to the stereo, and is not nessasdary to disconnect the hood, even when fitting a large multi-speaker system. I suggest you get them to talk you through why it was nessesary to disconnect it. Their explaination will be vague, and continue to push to find out that they ac...

Slightly off topic, did anyone hear the story of the man who died and owned a Z3 and had a life size stone replica made for his gravestone? I forget who it was that told me or where it was, but if its true then its quite snazzy! Here http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/05/05/article-1273067-097107D...

The first one is really odd. You get power gains by adding a strain on the battery? Not sure how that is going to work! It is not even in the main battery circuit, so what is it doing to the power going into the car? It is sapping off some of the peaks to make them more even possibly. Indeed it doe...

Yes, BMW spend £50M designing your car only to leave out a 50p resistor that would increase the power by 10%. That resistor will a) Trick you ECU into changing your air/fuel ratio b) Cause the engine to run rich c) Increase fuel consumption d) Foul the spark plugs, leading to early failure and repla...

This applied to both the mirror base units and glass:- RHD LHD I...
