Tyre Mismatch

Following a minor accident requiring a re-spray, 2 refurbed alloys and a dent removal (not my fault, I hasten to add) I was lucky enough to also get a new front tyre for my Z4, as the old one had a nick in the side wall, possibly caused by the crash. My problem is this. The accident repair centre ha...

Cheapest Michelin Tyres during October

Last year when I needed 4 new tyres (PS2s to replace the dreaded runflats) I got a great offer from CostCo - buy 3 get the 4th free. This November they have a 4-week offer on Michelin tyres - buy four 18" or above tyres get £50 off (and £30 off 16-17" tyres). I think their Michelins are th...

Remap was noticeable, but not a vast improvement. I'd say it was worth it though. However, not nearly as much as replacing the tyres, which has made a massive difference to my driving experience. I do quite a lot of motorway miles for work, and was beginning to resent driving the car because of the ...

Where would YOU go for a Drive?

So I'm starting to plan some weekends and short breaks for later this year. I want to get onto some twisty roads and see some excellent scenery - really make the most of the Z. Where would you recommend? Anywhere in Europe in particular? Which have been your favourite drives?

The story so far...

bought some 18" wheels
fitted Michelin PS2s (and ditched the RFTs)
ECU remap
chrome exhaust tips
took it out on a driving holiday

next on the list - a new filter and a strut brace, followed by a UK touring holiday (lakes and up to Scotland)

Yes, if I can obtain proof of purchase the stealer will (begrudgingly) pay for the work. If not, I'm looking at £75 a wheel for refurb, and a void warranty. I only need to show the dealer a proof that the wheels came off a legit Z4 - can anyone supply me with some proof they bought 108s on their car?

108 wheels - help!

I am having difficulties with my (st)ealer. I have a set of 108s which are corroded (and a bit kerbed to be fair) which I bought several months ago in a private sale. The stealer will only repair them if I can provide BMW proof of purchase. They aren't bothered if it's not in my name, just that I ha...

Been thinking about taking mine to the stealer to try my luck at getting them to pay for it - the wheels are admittedly very kerbed, but there is a lot of oxidation on there. Anyone had any success in getting theirs replaced/refurbed FOC by the dealer?

If you are concerend about the three points and want to keep your licence clean, you could try here http://pepipoo.com/ and in particular the MCN article and sample PACE letter.

NB - I have not tried this, and am not recommending it - it's just something that someone told me about.

Just bought the Mitac Mio 710, which is excellent. Much faster than the tom tom at recalculating routes, integral TMC, and also very handy when you get out of the car in pedestrian mode. Also has MP3 and currency calculation. try some of the sat nav forums for more info.

I tend to alternate fill-ups between ordinary unleaded (95 RON) and tesco 99 RON. however, this is just personal choice -no advice was given to use one or another fuel.

PS - nice use of the cicero quote in your signature!

I went to Chipped UK with my 2004 2.2 Z4 and can say I was very pleased with the results, apart from a slight drop in fuel economy. However, I'd say that's much more a result of my driving the car harder than the remap. I would definitely recommend it as one of the best low-cost mods to your car (al...

Shopping List for my Z4 - what would you spend it on?

I've just bought a silver '54 Z4 2.2se, and have about a grand to spend on it. I was wondering, if you were in my shoes, what would you be spending the money on? suggestions so far: - go to chippeduk.com and get the ECU remapped (£250) - get a rear spoiler, and a little 'shark fin' on the hard top (...
