That's great. Thank you so much for checking. In the back of my mind I thought it was for the cruise but wasn't 100% Given my recent experience with the dealer not having a clue what they were doing with the car and had been poking around in that area (see alarm post) i just wanted to make sure that...

Thanks for the info. I managed to figure out that it was the bonnet switch and a really easy fix. The adjuster that presses the switch had gove further into the bonnet so adjusted it back out and it has been fine ever since. The alarm is one of the old ones with the seperate key fob and key to disab...

I just thought I would update my findings. The stop that presses down the bonnet switch was set back right into the bonnet. After lowering this a little the alarm now functions correctly, other than that the dealer turned the siren off so it’s just lights and no noise :S I discovered that the batter...

98 M - Connector near fuse box

Hi, Following on from my alarm problem and opening the bonnet after the dealer had the car in I noticed that there is a connector not connected to anything near the fuse box. Having not been under the bonnet for a while I can't remember if it was actually connected to anything prior to it going in. ...

98 m alarm faulty

The 3GS or 3gws? Alarm on my 98 m has decided it's going to go off after 10 mins of being set. It sometimes gives the warning signal to say something is open and opening/shutting the drivers door usually sorts it so I imagine a door sensor at fault. Had it in at the stealer today and they say they c...

I'm just having a clear out and found i have a selection of BMW car magazines ranging from Dec '95 to August '05. The early years are in binders and the latter are in a box. The later years have a few missing so it's not a complete set. If anyone wants them then if you can collect from Lincoln their...

Spotted near Six Hills, a red 1.8 trim Z but as it passed it had a different exhaust note than expected. In my mirrors it looked to have a 4 exhausts.

Hi Mark, Thanks for that. In your opinion would/could the two portions (8mm bolt and nut) seperate, leaving the tray fixing holes intact and the clipped nuts then fall out of the sub frame?
