Thanks Phooto Been thinking a lot about the 3.0. In effect they're actually offering me nothing more than 1% (about £300) as compensation. I got 7% discount on my 2.5 order. No extended warranty. Just the 3 year one from new, which is now expired.

The boot was replaced about a year ago under the 6 years anti-corrosion bodywork warranty due to rust bubbles forming around he bootlock. (There is an extensive post about that particular subject elsewhere on the forum)

I'd be certain it's the same one, did have a very large spoiler. There CAN'T be two like that in and around Paisley. Has the 'testarosa' style mods on the front wings too. I just rubbed a bit of vaseline over the end of the stopper. Stopped the noise. Originally caused by me being a bit too diligent with the cleaning :roll:

As GaryW says, it's the black rubber bonnet stops. I've had this problem too and the clincher for me is that the noise disappears when it rains. Mine did exactly the same and like yours started with the n/s then gradually the o/s joined in.

I've used Autoglym for years and was always pleased with the results. HOWEVER, reading all about Meguiars on the forum has prompted me to change and I used the 3 step system for the first time this weekend - the results are stunning and it takes a lot less time for a far better result.
