Hi 4Wheels
I used the AutoGlym headlight restoration kit. I got mine in Halfords. Seemed to include more pads than the Meguires equivalent.
Thanks

Re: My Mora Red Zed
There was a fault with the handle needing slightly lifted up and a bit of pressure applied to open the door. A quick stop at the services on the way home and £2.99 for some WD40 sprayed into the door lock mechanism fixed that issue and has been fine ever since, pretty common e36 door handle problem ...

That's the one I bought Mr Scalex !
I was happy enough to buy as it was all cosmetic with no rust, I spent about £500 getting her perfect. She's such an honest solid little car.

Thanks guys.
Yes they are really rare here too, don't think there are many Mora Editions. Would love it in Australia though!

My Mora Red Zed
Thought I'd post some pictures of my Mora Red zed. She's a year 2000 2.0 with 63K on the clock. So far I've added some Calibre Vintage Wheels, fixed the headlight switch and restored the headlights. She also has a matching hard top. https://3sa3xg.dm2304.livefilestore.com/y3mo7nDoA7reedoey057FV3PB_-...

Hi, I'm also from Northern Ireland. EWS will stop it starting as this is generally coded to the cars transponder chip in the key. So if there is a mismatch it will stop it from starting and give the symptoms you've described. Try this bypass as a test to see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGhaDwDddf4

A little reminiscent of a Z8 at the back? Is the back straight or is it just the angle of the pictures?

Re: Corvette Engine Z8 from James Bond for Sale
It's actually not a corvette-engined Z8, strictly speaking. It's a replica Z8, made from Z8 panels attached to a Cobra chassis. BMW hadn't actually produced any Z8's in time for filming and could only supply body panels. Any shots showing the interior of the car were filmed using a pre-production m...

Hi Mike, Thanks for the reply, I suspect that it wasn't flushed properly. As soon as the rain stops I shall flush the system. I used a mechanic that used to do a great job but for some reason lately has taken a downturn. He didn't put a new rocker gasket on and now I have an oil leak onto the exhaus...

Oil in Coolant
Hi Guys, I have an M52 Single Vanos 2.8. I recently had the head gasket replaced and have run the car for around 200 miles now. I noticed oil in the coolant after this period. It only appeared after I screwed the expansion tank lid off whilst the engine was hot and pressurized. Is it possible that t...

The hot water flows out of the top hose and the cold water is sent via the bottom hose.

Yet another hijacked thread! You say you used carsoft. Is it an official version of carsoft? It has been known for the unofficial versions with the cheaper connections to crash/timeout during an interorgation of the car's ECU. When this happens it can leave the ECU in a damaged state. This would prevent the car from starting. I...

First check that all the hoses for the airbox are connected securely. If there is nothing physically obvious such as disconnected hose or split hose then it sounds very much like you have damaged the MAF. Try leaving the MAF disconnected and then try starting the car. If it starts with MAF disconnec...

Another thing that can cause this is the VANOS unit on the car. What can happen is that if the car is not driven often or poor quality oil used then the VANOS will either not have enough oil pressure to move due to poor oil or can get clogged up and cause it to not move at the required speed. This i...

The fact that you state while in gear would suggest to me you are referring the shift lever as no one would really expect that to move around when in gear. If you were simply talking about the knob that would happen when out of gear or in gear. If it is as I suspect the lever you are referring to th...

I think some of the confusion comes on this due to the different labelling when BMW fit a 'new' VANOS to replace the noisy one on a car. The 'new' VANOS which they fit is actually a remanufactured VANOS which had previously been fitted to and removed from another car. When the VANOS is remanufacture...

Re: Noise
Why inflict more noise on everyone - including yourself? Induction kits only make more noise - not power - and as they use a K&N type oiled filter element, they coat the hot-wire airflow sensor, and tend to cause weak mixture, whic is why most responsible tuners now refuse to fit them. The stoc...

It looks as though someone has put some sealant over the constant pressure valve. Its a little valve at the number 6 cylinder. It commonly leaks as the O Ring around it persishes due to the heat generated by the very close exhaust headers. Its a pain to change as getting the socket up there is a rea...
