It all depends on condition.
My zed has now 130,000 miles but since I bought it, at 60,000 miles, 3 years ago, it's done mostly long commutes (average speed on the computer at 40mph substantiates that) and it's been serviced religiously, and it's as good as when I got it.

I'm surprised at the low MPG around there. I admit i do 90% motorway journeys at around 70mph, but even in the winter, with heater, lights, everything on I get never less than 300-310 miles per tank, or 34 mpg on the computer Mine is a 1998 1.9 DOHC 16v. In the summer I get up to 340-350 miles per t...

Headlight not working
Hi,
I thought that the 9005 type bulb blew on my driver's side, so I went to Halfrauds and bought a new one.
I replaced it and it still won't work.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

i think a combination of the dreaded credit crunch plus not much nice weather to get your hood down are keeping prices very low,im sure they will increase by next year as will house prices a friend recently sold his house for 100,000 less than the starting price   this credit crunch i...

Any advice on a good independent in Newcastle
I had a total breakdown with the brakes. Basically I need the driver's side caliper, disk and pads.
Do you know anyone who won't just rip me off for the job?
any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

It is fine to remove the whole caliper assembly by just undoing the two 16mm bolts on the hub, slide it back swap the discs and bolt the caliper/carrier back on. Just lever back the pads a bit first to ensure they're go back on over the new disc. that's what I thought, thanks I'll give a good look ...

Re: Stuck
Try a kettle of boiling water, slowly poured over the wheel centre, then see if it comes off. IF not, wrap a cloth around the centre, and try the water treatment again. When it is off, clean the spigot in the centre of the hub flange and coat it with Copaslip. If you need new discs, I would think t...

replace brake disc
I have this wobbling on the steering wheel due to the driver's side disc being completely warped. I already had new pads, overhauled the caliper, and new wheel bearing about 3 weeks ago, but the mechanic said the disc was still ok for him. Well, it isn't. Since I am sick of wasting money at a $teale...

I have this very problem. That, and a wheel bearing to change.Mike Fishwick wrote:Make sure that your brake pads are not sticking to their carrier, which will cause brake binding and increase fuel consumption a little.

I just had the same problem. Sitcky calipers... apparently it was the flexible tubes (worn out) and the pads. $tealer suggested to replace calipers too, but at 108£ each (fitted) I'll drive the z for a few days and see if there is an improvement with new tubes and pads. for what I can feel, the car ...

Sounds like the motor, there are 2 motors one for back/forward and one for up down. I've had to replace both recently, not as bad as you might think. The back forward one was £65 and the up down about £100 plus labour. A common fault I understand, you don't need to use a dealer I went to an autoele...
