as i said on the other Z site, the wheels look great. Not normally a huge fan of Z3's in red but that looks great on those wheels. i was a bit unsure about them at first but they really suit the car once fitted. The tyres came recommended by the chap at Wheelbase but i'm sure you could try a differe...

Thanks for not banning me from the site for selling the Z3 :D Glad to hear that some of you have had mini's or like them. It's a great piece of kit and the performance is much much better than i thought it would be. My sister got herself a Mini One and i was hooked after driving it. Glad the wind de...

Turned to the dark side
I haven't been around here for long but i have learned a lot and enjoyed the company of a few of you at a local meet to. But, it's time to move on i'm afraid. I got the Z3 in the hope that it would be a bit less thirsty than my 2.8 5 series... i was wrong  The z does do a couple of mpg's more ...

I'm not sure if i'll be allowed to come along now as i have swapped the Z3 for a Mini Cooper S I got fed up of putting petrol in the Z and the price of petrol was p!ssing me off a bit. I loved the Z and would consider another one in the future but i've gone for a slightly less thirsty car for now. N...

Yeah, it was a great meet.. I was a bit worried about it before we arrived and even told Gemma we didn't have to stay if you all turned out to be weirdos! :D Was great to meet you all though and to see some more nice Z's. Any you're not weirdos :D Looking forward to the next one. I know a few nice r...

Hope to see you tonight. I'll be in the shamefully dirty 2.5i Carbon Black Z4. I'll try to get there 7 to 7:30, and have some food. i wouldn't worry... mine's not too clean either! impossible to keep it shiny in this weather when it's my every day car Here's a pic of me in a slightly dodgy position...

I might be barking up the wrong tree here but i used to own (please don't hate me!) a Rover 75... I was originally told that it could be a leaky windscreen but the pollen filter on the big Rovers were prone to blockages from leaves, etc. and, if left to become completely block, water that would norm...

Re: Diff mount failure
I had a look underneath just now and it looks like the problem is just starting...there's a crack about 2cm long on the mount, it's behind the anti-roll bar so very hard to see. There's one spot weld in the boot that's just got a bit of rust round one side...near to where the wiring harness comes t...

I'm currently waiting for a decision to be made by BMW about my car. There are no signs of the dif mount itself splitting but 3 of the spot welds in the boot have pulled through very slightly. They are only noticeable by the paint splitting directly around where the spotwelds are. Mine's a 1999 mode...

I really do like these wheels, they have a nice aggressive look to them. Personally I would have fitted a wider tyre to the rear wheels as it looks like the tyre walls slope in on the rim. Are 8J wide? I've no idea what 8j means  They are 225's all round. The original wheels were 225 on the f...

mine could do with being tightened up by a notch or two. Be interesting to find out how easy/difficult it is to do. As for the jolt when the car was set back down on it's wheels, that's just the fact that the brake pads had grabbed the discs in one position and the lowering action allowed the wheels...

I've just fitted some new wheels
I priced up a new rear tyre for my car and got a bit of a shock when i was quoted £181 for a Pirelli Pzero, which is what is already fitted to the car. I had a 5 series before the Z and that had 275 35 R18's on and it cost me £180 per tyre on that. I though the tyres for this one would be a more sen...

A little off topic, so please forgive me. We are currently doing a general knowledge quiz which we have to hand in soon. We have answered 142 questions and a little stuck on the remaining 2: - 1) Who in the 1980s prevented Margaret Thatcher from being voted Woman of the year on Radio 4's Today Prog...

Hello.. good choice of car  I got my Z3 2.8 about a month ago and love it. It is a big step down in terms of physical size from the E39 528 i used to have but the driving experience is brilliant :) I'm keeping my eye on Ebay for a wind deflector too.. It's surprising how much wind blast comes ...

If it's the same as mine, there will be a narrow plastic cover on the left and right of the head unit. These can be flicked off with a screwdriver. You should now be able to see a couple of screws which, when un-screwed, will allow you to pull the head unit out towards you. The only issue you may ha...

Mine did the same thing when i first got it.. if you open the boot and look on the inside of the boot lid, roughly behind where the push button is on the outside, you should find a plastic inspection cover.. Unclip that and you should find that you can see the locking mechanism. If you can hear the ...
