Thanks John Strangely enough I had 2 fobs but only one key - I had used and contributed to the links you posted to in my eventual sucessful coding of the fobs. Could be the cam sensor that's showing its age - some have replaced both sensors when one fails. However, rather than guessing get a diagnostic run on it - it may save you alot of time and expense. Is your fob the house brick type (I think it should be on a 1997)?
