Mot passed, sourced a cover for positive battery jump connector (mine was missing), also sourced some bolt fastenings to replace afew cosmetically tired items in engine bay.

Re: Wanted : drivers door handle (interior) & front marker L
Thanks for reply.
Yes I considered that....listed cards tend to come in at up to £60.
Just spent circa £700 on the car over a couple of days (tyre and brakes) so some bargain hunting called for. Perhaps a cold enquiry on a whole car being split will be cheaper.

Re: Correct tyre size confirmation
255/50/16 Nezen N'Fera SU1 x4 now all fitted.
Although stamped with same dimensions what came off definitely sat wider....the tyre fitter confirmed this - very odd, possibly down to deformation - not sure.
Anyway as stated will post a review once I have some varied driven miles on these.

Re: Correct tyre size confirmation
Thanks I am going with 225/50/16
Just checked realoem which shows style 55's shod with 225/50/ ZR16
Currently fitted Conti's are clearly well past it.

Correct tyre size confirmation
Style 55 (5 spokes) on 2001 2.2i (non sport)....7J16 I think. Should be 255/50/16 afaik.....have this size on all 4 rims currently, albeit they are aged & well worn Contis. The current fitment just seem a bit wide but I think they are out off shape. New tyres going on tomorrow hopefully......Nex...

That requires dropping the engine cover. The cast numbers are on the forward most part of the sump which cannot be viewed without removing same. Cant access my garage as its frustratingly presently used for storeage. Time to do this presently is also an issue. The issue could be easily clarified if ...

Z3 2.2i Sump replacement......
I have a hairline crack on the sump of the Z3. Car is a 7/01 build 2.2i. realoem says sump part number is 11131437001 This lists at over £400 from BMW so I bought a sump from a BMW breaker. Now for the query/potential problem The sourced part I have in front of me has the following numbers cast on i...

Owned an '93 Mk1(NA) 1.6i SE(2).......... MX-5 IMO is a perfectly adequate car. I have also driven a brand new Mk1 owned by a family friend when it launched. Despite the years that seperated my driving experiences of the 2 cars, I was more than aware of the looser feeling of the car I owned which ha...

WANTED : Exhaust Camshaft Sensor for 6 cylinder M54
Part Number on realoem shows as 12147518628 fits a multitude of BMW's including as required for 2001 Z3 2.2i. This is the non cabled sensor that sits on the front of the offside & front of the engine secured by a 5mm allen bolt. Ideally after a BMW original part but will consider a quality 3rd p...

Thanks all comments noted....including advice re shocks from Mr Silver. I was very recently told by BMW indy one way to check for rear subframe bush wear is to take it to high rpm in 3d then lift off and reapply accelerator. This suposedly generates rear steer characteristics in cars with worn rear ...
