Black Z3 Roadster 'W' plate parked by the kerb near the Cinnamon Lounge Indian Restaurant. Hello! Local? 8-) Oddly enough I had another 'spotted' five minutes earlier when a Westfield stopped at the crossing in Horn's Lane. My other weekend funmobile is a Westfield. https://i.imgur.com/wY9xsd3.jpg

Mich, I have tried with mine but I don'y know where the switch is so I had to do it whilst it was 'ON'. You may glean something from it but it looks as if a blade under the edge will ease it out.

If I may say so, these are very useful. I have one and without it I would have given up hardtop fitting and removing a log time ago. Both my Good Lady and I are no longer spring chickens and lifting the hard top off and then stowing it somewhere became a difficult task. With the hoist it is a one ma...

Re: Rough Idle. Dies when pressing gas pefal

I had similar symptoms on my 2.2i but the cause can only be the same as mine if yours has a fly-by-wire throttle. The throttle body was sticking which meant that the only engine speed possible was that allowed by the idle control valve. If I remember rightly I also had a couple of warning lights:- D...

Thanks for that Red, it has convinced me to obey the old adage "If it isn't broken, don't fix it!". My 2002 2.2i rear window is only slightly misted and has a crease mark across it, but it does the job perfectly whilst still looking less than pristine. I know it will have embrittled with a...

Mine had two problems: the bottle was contaminated with algae and this was occluding the pick-up tube, and the non-return valves just before the nozzles seemed to be similarly affected so I removed them. Re: instrument cluster replacement

It is recorded in the coding plug and in the cluster and somewhere else on the car. Some say in the headlight switch - unlikely as that sounds. When a cluster/plug with a lower recorded mileage than the hidden record is installed it is overwritten with the higher figure. Oh and the tamper dot pops up.

As its name implies, the coding plug is a plug and can be removed and substituted. Mine failed which gave the infamous EEP-1 display. A second hand cluster from eBay had about 80k miles too many for my car but it did make everything work again, albeit with a vast mileage. Swapping the coding plug fr...

I did mine a while ago and I didn't need a clutch switch. Is your car fly-by-wire or cable throttle? Mine is a very late 2.2i with FbW and it's a simple fitting - once that damned plug is found! Can't recall the details of the connections now though, sorry.

A 'hard' LSD will make it more likely that a heavy footed driver will lose the back end quite readily. An open diff will always spin up the unloaded (inside the curve) rather than spin up both rears as an LSD will. My experience in 2003 with an inexperienced driver who had never driven RWD before in...

It's a standard USB at one end and a 'square' USB at the other (the type that connects to printers). I realise the risk of the CD popping but it is a small diameter one so the centrifugal/centripetal forces are proportionately less. I'll try the 20 pin connection and report when an opportunity arises.
