I'm only guessing but maybe the seats are heavy because they are reinforced to provide extra roll over protection and swapping them may not be a good idea.

I have just renewed with Saga. Dearer than last year with 3 points on my licence but still ok at £191 fully comp for my 2 litre year 2000 with my wife as a named driver and emergency cover for any qualified driver.

With a little bit of muscle there is no need to compress the rear springs to get them out, and the shorter lowering springs pop back in even easier. The fronts are removed from the car as a spring/shock assembly before needing to be compressed and both sides can be done comfortably in about 3 hours.

The trim i used is the first one on the linky page and the cheapest @ £1.25 a metre but i did consider the next size up and also the round section type as well. I have used a pva type wood glue from good old "Wilko's" but i can't really reccommend it as I'm not too sure how well it is taki...

The thermostat is a genuine BMW part which cost about £75 from Blue Bell in Crewe. I didn't use a 32 spanner because i only took off the fan blades with the 5 ml allen key leaving the "boss" in place. Much easier. :shock: <a href="http://s957.photobucket.com/albums/ae53/Lazzzydog/?act...

It doesn't look like too much of a problem to me, and being at the top of the window no water will pool there. Either create a home made bridging piece to hide the gap or just ignore it as a small irritation to set against the hundered quid or so that you have saved.

I have just lowered mine by 35mm all round using Apex springs which cost me £105 delivered to the door. I suggest you take each rear wheel off to check the springs. I recently had a rattle that turned out to be a broken offside coil spring, not what i was expecting to find at all! :shock:
