Re: Z3 Sellers Overpricing Their Car
Personally, I think that Z3's are now overpriced in comparison to newer Z4's. I was happy to sell mine Z3 3.0 for £4.5k a couple of months ago. I did not get many calls, and only one serious viewer who bought the car at the advertised price based on condition. Mine had 100k miles and 6 owners, but a...

Those silly wheels didn't help it's cause IMO. I really liked the MV2's on my old Z3 :( http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad18/simonbud100/Z3MV2.jpg I think I would have given the engine bay a once over before taking the pictures though, probably psycological but an oily engine and an amber servic...

I was thinking about removing some of the bits from mine before I sell it, but to be honest I think the mods make the car.
I know I could make a few quid more, but I can't be bothered with the hasstle of finding replacement wheels etc.

Probably just as cheap to get one supplied and fitted and a lot less bother. I was looking at getting one from Soft Tops of Croydon this winter, they would have supplied and fitted for well under £300 as I remember.
In the end I cleaned and protected mine instead so I decided not to bother.

I bought a cheap hand held one off ebay, not had cause to use it yet though. It comes with a comprehensive instruction / code booklet.
My feeling is that it is just a display for the code stored in the ECU so does not need to be all singing and dancing!

I don't have an issue with tramlining and I have 18's with adjustable coilovers. It could be worth driving a similar model, see if there are any for sale locally and take one for a test drive (unless you know someone with the same engined model). An M is a different beast all together. From my limited experience of driving an ZM it feels completely different to even a 3.0 Z3, power delivery is relentless and handling is fantastic. Hi Chris, guess you have the old tramlining issue, it's very common on these cars. Most people will say that the biggest cause of tramlining is tyres. On my old car I changed tyres, ball joints and fitted powerflex bushes and a strut brace. All helped a little bit, but nothing completely cured the p...

My experience is that powerflex bushes are good (I have fitted them to both of my Z3's) but they are not the answer to tramlining issues. In my opinion changing both ball joints will be of greater benefit. You will notice a far stiffer ride with the Powerflex bushes. As for changing ball joints or w...
