Just to let you know Robert someone suggested the bonnet switch could be the culprit and sure enough a few in/outs has obviously cleared some corrosion and it's all up and running. I did appreciate your help though as they also suggested some of your thoughts.

Re: Hazard/indicator problem
Good morning, Not a great deal of progress really. Checked the tilt switch and although some water below it the actual switch was bone dry and when I disconnected and opened the interior is dry and looks perfect. With the switch disconnected the original symptoms are unchanged. Disconnected the haza...

Hazard/indicator problem
All on its own without ignition on the hazards start flashing - not normally but a fast flicker. Put the hazard flasher switch down and the hazards flash normally. Switch back up and the flicker resumes and neither indicator works. Only way to stop the flickering hazards is to remove the relay which...

Re: Air vent
Thanks Southernboy - more or less what I was dreading.
When I've got a day to spare and a few tranquilisers I might have a go.
I appreciate your time to reply though.

Air vent
2001 facelift 2.2 z3 The air vent on top of the dash on the driver side can be lifted off and the tube it connects to can be pulled out and is not connected to anything further down. I assume it is a correct part but the fit between vent and tube is sloppy to say the least. What is the best way to g...

Hi z3cade, It is pretty straightforward as mentioned previously. I posted a thread on 10 th November under the heading 'Hardtop advice' and got loads of good tips the most helpful in terms of clearly stated instructions being the disconnection and reconnection of the wiring on the donor car from siw...

Tks. for the tips.
Furthur to my comment on cost of fitting kit I see one ended on ebay today selling for £321. The top from the same seller made £451. Soon the kits are going to cost more than the tops.[/b]

Hi All, Just to let you know I collected the top without a hitch. It took about an hour to take the brackets off the old car and refit to mine. No problems at all thanks to the excellent advice received from you guys especially siwilson whose concise description of the wiring work enabled me to whiz...

Thanks again for all this great response. I will let you all know how I get on. If anybody has or knows a source for the switch let me know. I've got to get the roof sprayed up (I couldn't wait for an Impala Brown one to turn up as I may have the only Impala Brown Z in the country)
Thanks again,
Dave

Hi, Sorry I have trawled through the site for a definitive answer to this but not quite happy. I am going tomorrow to collect a hardtop that is currently fitted to a pre facelift car. I will have to take fitting kit off that and fit to my car. I have looked at all the tips and instructions and am fa...

Hi, I am looking to get a hard top for the z3 and have an opportunity to get one plus the fitting kit. What I need to know is how hard is it and how long does it take to get the kit off the donor car and on to mine? Is there a post on the forum covering this as I have looked to no avail. Second ques...

In answer to your question shantybeater - may I call you shant? I got the car with 34K on in absolutely original condition and feel like trying to keep it that way. It needs a couple of bits of very minor bodywork done and I hope the bodyshop can match the curious colour OK. Apart from that I have g...

I posted a message when I first got the Zed before Christmas but never posted pics. Nothing unusual about the car except the colour - Impala Brown which I understand is quite rare. Anyway this morning I threw a bucket of water over her and with the sun shining took a few pics. - Hope you like. I hop...

Hi All, Been reading the forum for a few days having bought a 2.2 z3. Its an early 2001 model with only 34K on the clock and apart from a couple of minor bodywork issues it is very tidy and totally original which is how I'd like to keep it. Had a bit of an issue with a hood leak but finally cured wi...
