Re: Z3 roof inner plastic tearing off
I went to the dealership some weeks ago to change a light bulb. A mechanic ripped off the visible part, but I am not sure if this is a standard procedure in these cases. In fact this aggravated the problem as more plastic started appearing some time after. I believe the roof headliner was introduced...

I think it is a plastic layer that covers all the roof between the canvas and the interior trim.

Z3 roof inner plastic tearing off
Hello, recently some thin plastic started appearing from the sides of the roof and it seems to be getting worse. Did anyone had this problem before?

Correct Brian, they are a little flimsier than I would like but t here is nothing left of my old ones. They are classed as air ducts when ordering for some reason. I have seen some aftermarket aluminium ones somewhere but cannot remember where :head: must be getting old. You can find the aluminium ...

Re: Oil leak
Yesterday I went to BMW service again asking them to check if the oil leak could be from PAS. They guy who checked it out said that if the leak is from the right side of the car is must not be from PAS as the pump is on the left side. He suggested it could be from the engine itself. He checked the P...

Thank you for your insights. Your hints make perfect sense, as when I am doing manoeuvres and need to turn the wheels at their maximum I hear a squeaking noise. The guy that drove my car at BMW service said all BMWs do that...

Re: Very strange 1.9 on eBay
In Portugal when a car is imported, it receives the same licence plate as if it was a new vehicle. Because of this, imported vehicles are very easy to spot on the road.
The exception to this are antique classified cars that may request unused licences from production year.

2.0 vs 2.2
I am considering changing my 2.0 black Z3 to a 2.2 silver model. Are there any noticeable differences on performance and on driving? I have only driven mine, so I really cannot compare. Mine has lower mileage, full history and a colour that I love. The 2.2 has all my favourite extras (sport edition)...

Hello Jamezee, your rims look amazing. Yesterday I also washed mine and I noticed that the inner part of the wheel do not have the same aluminium finish as the outside. Were your rims ever repainted?

Re: Modding from scratch
I totally agree with Southernboy. In my opinion the best original Z3s are 6 cylinder Sport Editions. When I bought my standard 2.0 there were none in the market, as these are pretty rare here in Portugal. Some time ago I found one for sale in pristine condition and with very low mileage. If I had bo...

I use Zaino Z-9 for cleaning and Zaino Z-10 for conditioning. They leave the interior with a strong leather scent.

Re: 60 days in the garage, leaving the Z3 What next?
This kind of questions here is like saying to the McDonald's guy "I usually like the cheeseburger but this one is awful. What do you recommend me next: McChicken, pizza or sushi?" I feel that if you loved the 2.2 Sport Edition you cannot go wrong finding a decent 3.0 Sport Edition. Z4s can...
