A 2.8 has plenty of low down torque which makes pottering around at 30-40mph in 4th very easy, with some good urge available if you need it without changing down. :thumb: ...... Hi and welcome back from Bonzo and Z3lda in Norfolk. Sorry to hear of your loss. Your Z3 is such a fresh looking colour, hope she turns out to be as good as she looks. What colour/spec is her interior?

Definitely replace them. I did mine, and as Del said corrosion and road crud will be worse on the inner part. There are details and info on replacing sills on the Knowledge base, and on the other forum. I fitted some Halford's mudflaps to the front of mine after I fitted the sills as it stops the je...

Re: Sill removed cleaned and waxoyled
Sill replacement project now finished! Halfords £8 universal mudflaps fitted to the front. These needed a lot of gradual trimming /offering up before they would sit nicely, so it was a bit of a slog, but worth it for the protection they give for so little cost. New 'roadster' sill covers, carpet edg...

You can adjust the door top lean, by loosening the two bolts on the bottom of the door and sliding them sideways a little.

I got new sills from Rybrook BMW, I can't remember the price, but it was good. I got clips and fixings from Sopers. I splashed out on new 'roadster' sill covers, 'C' pillar covers and carpet edge covers, all from Rybrook, as Sopers won't send big items mail order. it's a pig of a job :head: when you...

Re: Minor Door shut adjustment?
Are you sure you don't just need to grease the mechanism a little? When the door is shut properly, does it like up correctly with the rear panel? If so, that would suggest that there's not really an alignment issue and that it is just the mechanism binding a little. I'll try a bit of WD40 and repor...

That is in good condition - in fact the best I've seen on the forum and elsewhere. Getting the new outer sills painted up soon. The o...

Yes, last year had all new OEM springs, shocks, mounts, drop links and ARB bushes renewed. That plus a Strong Strut Butt Strut and Body Braces certainly improved the handling. (Already had a front strut brace on).

I personally, if driving enthusiastically, would never change gear on a bend. Brake and change down before the bend, then once you are into it put the power in! Okay if you are trundling about though.

Nick some of your significant other's E45 cream, massage it liberally into your leather seats and other leather bit on your Z. Leave it overnight to soak in then go over it with a microfibre to remove residue. I heard somewhere that the top leather guy at Aston Martin does this.

Just remembered this. After you have filled up with new oil, remove the fuel pump fuses. Then you can prime the system by turning the engine over on the ignition key.

I think 17" wheels are fine, they were fitted OEM to old shape 2.8s . Anything bigger to me seems to shout, "WHEELS, LOOK," and is out of proportion to the shape and size of a Z3. I recently saw a Z3 with great big wide wheels and had to laugh, it looked ridiculous, all wheels, oh, an...

Agreed, I changed my springs, shocks, mounts. drop links and A.R.B. bushes last year ( OEM ) and noticed the difference.... It is cosmetic no doubt, but lowering and spacers to me seems like a bit of a herd instinct thing.
