Re: 1600 miles round the north of N Scotland and back to Dev

We went that way last October, fantastic roof down driving. Strangely enough we didn't see any other Z3's as well, but we did get a nice wave from an MX driver on the Forth bridge. Plenty of B&B's this time of year, before the schools break up anyway. If you get chance try and get to Plocton too...

Re: Rear brake pad replacement

Thanks Mike Well I'll give it another try but I know the Indy had to bend the clips in the vice to make it fit, doesn't sound right but I'll try. Unfortunately I didn't keep the old pads but I know the clips were definitely smaller, I expected a snug fit but wouldn't think you should need to 'fettle...

Rear brake pad replacement

Hello all I've some problems with getting a good fit on some replacement rear pads. Last year I ordered a set of Brembo rear pads, when I tried to replace them I found they didn't fit due to the clip on the inner pad being too big, I then dropped into a local supplier and bought a set of Bosch pads ...

I've a similar problem too, I had a new cat (£170) fitted at ATS 2 years ago. Sounds about right, I get just on 300 miles from a tank on a run. You can use GunGum exhaust bandage if it's one of the pipes rather than the box and as long as it seals the hole then it's not an MOT failure. If you get 300 miles from a tank, that means you're getting about 27mpg. I get about 35 mp...

Re: Any quick tips? Car won't start ...

Does sound like a fuel problem, try taking the fuel filler cap off to start. As suggested it could be the pump or it could be the fuel itself, it does go off, so any car that's being stored for a while should be drained of petrol.

I don't think you can fit them to the earlier z as the roof is different. the only other reason it could have been fitted was to enable bmw to use the same roof as the power hood, suppose this is the most likely reason yes that's true, I suppose that the hood on the later cars is heavier as it has ...

windscreen washers, if you remove the under bonnet soundproofing you'll see a 'non return' valve on the underside of each of the nozzles, sometimes these fail. You can bypass them to see if they are causing the problem, easy and cheap to replace (available on ebay).
