Thanks for the responses. I don't think I have a sticking caliper but I will double check. I got replacement bushes and hope to fit them soon. It's very irritating on long drives.

Mine doesn't have a locking cap but doesn't appear to lock with central locking. I'm more concerned about someone pouring something in it than taking something out.

So assuming mine should lock with central locking, is replacing the solenoid a wing-off job?

my previous car was a Vectra SRi and I have yet to find a garage that could balance the wheels first attempt. A vibrating steering wheel becomes very annoying very quickly. Glad you got it sorted.

Just wondering if anyone can help. My passenger door opens fine from the inside but 90% of the time won't open from the outside. Any ideas? It does occasionally open from the outside. Door pin goes up and down ok with central locking.
