Just found this thread looking for other things on the net. In answer to you r question, Yes. You can fit the 2.93 cwp onto that spool. You can fit any 188 medium case cwp onto it in fact. I've built 3.63's from E30 diffs into E36 casings for drift use. You need to mark the bolt on the input flange ...

But I thought if it's worth doing then might as well do it right. Hence getting them to fit it.
I might get sick of the drifting soon so wanted to build a car that I can use for other things and this cage should stiffen the chassis right up.

Small side note. More to do with the drifting that the Z. Took the M3 down to a local dyno to try and diagnose the problem with the M3 that saw a massive lack of power which essentially made me completely uncompetative at Lydden hill. First power runs were all around 220bhp. Not good for a 3.0ltr M3...

Tell me about it... Basically, I cut the loom that goes forward to the headlights etc and took the fuse box apart and passed the whole lot into the cabin. The fusebox bottom part mounts to the bulkhead but there will be cage there so it had to go. I'll extend the lighting loom and relocate the fuseb...

Well I made the decision not to do the cage myself. Yesterday I took the car up to Custom Cages to get them to fit it. No they can't.
You can get eccentric bushes but you don't get much adjustment.
That or have the rear axle modded with slotted washers which will allow toe or camber and toe correction.

Front and rear carpet set. Cleans up well. The foot print marks will hoover out. Which I will do if someone buys. I have cut the carpet underneath the heater box to get it out but cut very high so once the centre console is installed, you won;t be able to see the cuts. No idea on what these are wort...

Fitted the new rear coilovers yesterday. Man what a difference. The rear shocks were completely shot. The car feels so much more stable now which gives alot more confidence.
