Re: A slightly different central locking problem?

I just went out and tried using the key in the lock. Turning anticlockwise pushes the drivers door pin down but turning clockwise the key just spins round and round. I normally just use the remote central locking on key so I never noticed this before. After a quick search, this might be the fix: htt...

A slightly different central locking problem?

I just noticed that the central locking in my z3 has a slightly odd behaviour... If I push down the door pin on my passenger side I hear the central locking actuators go and both doors (and boot) lock. This is all as expected. The problem is; if I push down the drivers side door pin the central lock...

Re: Code P0135 after changing o2 sensor

Not really engine issues, but the heater in cabin goes cold when car is idle as soon as i accelerate heater blows hot again. Dash temp needle is bang on centre and no over heating whats so ever. I'm no mechanical expert but I'll throw in a suggestion... Could this be a symptom of air trapped in the...

Re: Clocks conundrom

I had this happen the other day; it is a bit strange driving along without a working speedometer! Check that all of the relays and fuses are pressed in firmly (inside the fuse box under the bonnet). This did the trick for me; I think one of the taller relays may have rattled loose over some rough ro...

Anyone tried a rear window from ebay?

Maybe this is old news here but I just came across this link and perhaps someone will find it useful: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130629448629?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D130629448629%26_rdc%3D1 £72 for a zippered rear window. Not sure how much these are from t...

Re: Wanted: Faulty CD changer wires.

Hi Brian,

I did have a look on RS but when I looked at the data sheets I wasn't 100% sure that the pin pattern was the same as the bmw one. Since I couldn't be sure they would fit I thought I would try this approach first.

Wanted: Faulty CD changer wires.

Has anyone got a faulty cd changer just gathering dust? I am trying to make an adaptor to fit the newer ibus cd changer into my z3. See this thread: http://zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=35979 In order to do it nicely I need the proper connectors but I'm having problems finding them. I...

Re: cd43 requires mBus to iBus upgrade.

Just a quick update: I stripped out the boot and I definitely only have the older style connectors. I discovered that I have active speakers in the foot-well. (When using the io play the head unit needs to be on to send power to the amplifier). I have ordered an ibus cd changer from an e46, ebay £35...

Re: cd43 requires mBus to iBus upgrade.

The wiring was bundled up where the cables come into the boot from cabin on the left hand side. If you pull the left carpet away you should see them. I probably would have seen that if it was there; I guess I don't have it. My previous Z3 (facelift 2.0 model year 2000) did have the larger power plu...

Re: cd43 requires mBus to iBus upgrade.

Hi siwilson, Your post has got me thinking... If BMW used the iBus in post facelift Z3's to control other devices in the car; then it would make sense that iBus to the boot is part of the main wiring loom. Although perhaps only ///M's got iBus? Do you remember whether you have the three pin connecto...

Re: cd43 requires mBus to iBus upgrade.

Hello Jonttt, Yes, I had read about the Becker Traffic pro here: http://www.waycoolinc.com/z3/01/081501/becker.html It looks like a very nice unit and I did consider this route but they still retain a fairly high price even on ebay. I was also worried that mounting the gps aerial might be tricky and...

cd43 requires mBus to iBus upgrade.

Hello all, I am a new member who has just acquired a 2002 Z3 3.0. I'm loving driving the car; just wish we had a few more top down days lately! Whenever I get a new toy I like to take it apart and fiddle with it a bit! Reading online I found that the cd43 (in dash cd player) was a good upgrade from ...
