Red Facelift & Blue Facelift Z3's, Harrogate/Ripon

spotted a Red Facelift & a Blue Facelift Z3 on Harrogate Road (A61) heading in the Ripon direction.
I believe I've seen these guys before.

I never acknowledged you in time as 'Brain to light stalk pull' is a little slow these days.....anyhow, just wondered if its anyone on here.

I can remember a similar situation about 5 years ago when I changed the thermostat and coolant. I'm just about to change the coolant again ( when the rain stops!) but my plan is to disconnect the top and bottom hoses and flush through with the garden hose for a while from the top. Have a missed any...

I recently performed a coolant change. All references state that a 1997 2.8 (M52B28) holds 10 1/2 Litres. I removed the radiator plug which drained a little over 3 litres, then I removed the engine drain bolt which drained approx 2 litres, i also had the thermostat housing off and replaced the gaske...

when I went down to the garage to take the pics I had a quick attempt at re-fixing...... I first fitted the bottom clip to the dash, then I firmly pushed at the top where the plastic clip fits and the first thing I noticed was that the top metal clip was out of alignment with the hole in the a-pilla...

Help needed!! Has anyone any experience with the inside windscreen pillar trim covers. Both left and right hand side covers don't seem to fit "snugly" and I've had to push them on and lever the rubber trim over the edge as it should fit. I'm not familiar with the underside of the ///M but I had a S.Steel full system fitted to my 2.8 recently and my exhaust burnt the paint on my bumper.... I'm curious sirius-c, you seem to have quite a few extra power connections going on under that bonnet, care to share? are you referring to the little fuse box at the back right side? its a 4 gang blade fuse block thingy-mi-bob :D , I'm using 3 of them...1 for a Inphase USW10 compact sub in the pass...

I fitted a pair similar to these but the indicator connection on them was a different shape/fitment to the ones on my car.
I had to chop the existing ones off and solder the new ones in....everything else fit fine

These maybe a direct fit on yours, but I'm just sharing my experience

The only external thing I have read which can cause this sort of thing (and I’m not sure whether it is totally accurate) is where a higher octane fuel is used. The ECU would have been factory programmed for 95 octane (possibly even slightly less) and so if say, 98 octane is used, there may well be ...

I have just replaced mine on a 99 2.8. Mine`s in front of the drivers side suspension turret (radiator side). You can`t miss it, it`s quite big. Looks like you have something else where mine is. If it is running rich it may be that the ECU thinks the engine is cold. Hook it up to an INPA and see what engine temperatures you are getting. I don't mean to hijack a thread but it seems like a good place to ask my question... Mine's running rich, well, its trying too but the long term fuel trim ...

can anyone recommend any software that can read live oxygen sensor data on the old Z3's (circular port under bonnet)?
INPA shows nothing much.
Ive got the adapter & usb cable.

The voltage on the o2 sensor is 4.8v at idle and barely changes with revs, is this OK?

theres rust on the 90 degree vertical lip lower edges on either end, they would need chopping off and sorting somehow.

2 and a half years since its last oil change. Yearly at the very least. The low mileage makes it worse as your oil is holding the water of 2 1/2 years condensation cycles with the engine probably never run long enough at temperature to evaporate the suspended water. It's just dawned on me that I also had nearly a full tank of fuel that was sat in it since filling on 13/10/2014 (6 months old), that cant be good

Thank you for your reply Del. for some strange reason i didn't receive an emissions print out with this MOT like I did last year. I remember looking at the screen and watching in anticipation for the values to turn green. I'm pretty sure HC was the real problem but i know CO just scraped through too...
