I stumbled across the answer to this that I will share in an attempt to prevent any further breakages. at the weekend I decided to swap my centre console back over to wood now I have completed my project. Re: Rear screen - are these any good ???
the oem rear window is the best option, there are plenty of threads (old) on here, you do have to search though to find them, they always end in - buy the oem, but then if your going to spend £150 on a rear screen just pay another £100 and get a new roof too (fitted) the only downside here is the wi...

Re: Rear screen - are these any good ???
the rubber outer trim looks alot thicker than oem, most cheap replacement windows have plastic trim which will crease when the roof is lowered leading to it leaking, this one however looks like it has solved that issue.

had a looksie on google, total weight is 15kg, i figure some people have thought (like me) this was for each one. so 15kg isnt too bad, still 15 lt of fuel though to be honest i cant really see 7.5kg each side would really make much difference to scuttle

surely adding dampers doesn't solve a problem, rather just masks it. never even knew they were there. some people are removing them, seems abit of a faf just to shed about 30kg, this is only equivalent to about 3 and a half ponies, but then free ponies is good, though bmw must have fitted them for a...

At the other end of the scale, I'm selling my 'Z' it's a 2.8 manual and at 1200 or offers represents fantastic value. its connected to the speed sensor, mine does the same, if I roll along in neutral the revs are higher, then they fall once the car has stopped. mine got stuck once and just stayed at 1000rpm even if I wasn't moving, a couple of days later it cleared it self, maybe a sticking valve of some kind in th...

Why not just colour code the existing handles? Had new black hood fitted 16th July 2015 and paid £400. Took him about two and a half hours. Hope that helps. That's brilliant, I'll be calling them shortly. Thanks! its a good price, if you take into account how much you would have to pay for an oem rear screen 8-) and you get a new roof to boot :)
