As expected, some VERY mixed opinions. I'm no further in deciding whether they will look any better :dunce: I have bought the chrome gills anyway as they were at a good price and if they aren't to my taste then I should easily get a return on what I spent on them. They should be with me this weekend...

Did you end up fitting the headrest decals onto your seats? I've seen these myself and would be interested to see what they look like. Done some work to the gearknob today. The entire surround was worn and the chrome coating had peeled from the surface. Used a scotchbrite grinding wheel to linish off the majority of the damage and rubbed it down with a fine emery paper. Left with quite a nice brushed aluminium finish. May consider ...

Looking at buying a z3 with a noisy thrust bearing, looks like its quite a common fault on them.

Any idea on how much it costs to repair or replace the bearing? is there any giveaway for a particularly bad one? can it be done quite easily?
