@dino Forgot to say, I've got a black zed, colour coded.
Ooh they are nice Brian, thanks for the pics. They should look nice on black zeds too.

Re: Change of wheels, opinions?
@oxheart I just remembered there is a place on in Sussex that specialize in used BMW wheels. They often sell wheels already refurbed too. Can't remember the name but have google or maybe someone here will know. I first saw them on eBay and if think they advertise in one of the BMW magazines too. Al...

Re: Change of wheels, opinions?
Thanks a lot guys, your posts have been a great help. I've emailed asking about the age of the tyres so fingers crossed they will be relatively new and I can make them an offer. I want these wheels! Dino they look great on your car, what are your summer wheels?

Re: Z3 popping out of third gear
Thanks a lot for your posts Colb. Its good to have a few ideas on what it could be before I see my local Indy. If it does need a replaced box I'll probably put up with it for a while. Cheers

Z3 popping out of third gear
Hi all, Every now and again roughly every 30 minutes of city driving the Z3 pops out of third into neutral. Theres no loud noise when it does this. It hasn't happened when accelerating, it seems to happen at 2-3000rpm and a couple of times its coincided with a small bump in the road. Could this be s...

Re: Z3 gearbox query
That's reassuring. That was my thought exactly... Well I went in armed with photos and I'm glad to say the CDV has now been removed! :). This was my first time at an Indy and to be fair to them other than the CDV I couldn't fault their knowledge and the service was first class, very profess...

Re: Z3 gearbox query
Thanks a lot for clearing that up. In a few of the threads I read people were changing their CDV for a modified one by zeckhausen that's why I thought it needed be replaced. Went to see my the independent bmw specialist earlier, they had not heard of CDV's on a bmw which I found surprising.... It's ...

Re: Z3 gearbox query
Many thanks for your comments and advice guys. I've decided to see a bmw independent specialist tomorrow to get the car serviced so I'll get them to have a look at it at the same time. I've read it's pretty cheap to replace the CDV so I'm considering doing it anyway. Is there any drawback to getting...

Re: Z3 gearbox query
It's seems better after doing that. Doing a north to west quarter circle motion to bring it into first improves it too. The gear changes in first and second (especially when cold) aren't as smooth as I'm used to. Feels like I have to be more deliberate with the selection. Just hoping this is normal!...

Z3 gearbox query
Hi all,
I'm wondering if someone could help. When I go to select 1st gear from being in reverse (completely stationery not rolling back or anything) the gear change isn't as smooth as other gear selections and makes a noise. Is this common for z3's? Any ideas what this could be?
Many thanks
