Re: 2.8 misfiring..
Indeed. I think engines run a little hotter when running on LPG but also the guy I spoke to explained that since LPG is harder to ignite than petrol the ignition system has to work harder anyway. So anything like this is emphasized when running on LPG.

Re: 2.8 misfiring..
So further to this I spoke with a guy I know thats a bit good with this kind of thing. (cars, lpg... anything with wheels really).. He said what has been suggested anyway. Change the plugs. did that - no difference. Replace the coils, maybe at a time. I decided (being the impatient sort) that I woul...

Re: 2.8 misfiring..
the misfire is across the rev range when it happens. I trimmed one of the pipes on the LPG system @ the weekend... but have been running on petrol for the last few days. Its not done it again - but will keep on petrol for the commute tomorrow then back to gas on Tue see how it goes. Could do without...

2.8 misfiring..
Apologies if this is covered already somewhere - I did a search and found some seemingly relevant threads but nothing conclusive... My Z3 (1998 2.8) has starting randomly misfiring. First started a few weeks ago.. driving along at a nice steady 70 and it suddenyl just felt wrong. Paused the music an...

Re: I cant get in ... help !
Yeah - you were right. Now sorted. Thanks all This however has made me increase the importance of fixing the other side !! I did actually get the door card off when I got the car a few months back but I could neither see the lock actuator nor get my hand in there and abandoned the attempt. Im guessi...

I cant get in ... help !
Anyone suggest a way to geti into my car. I shut the door earlier, possibly the seatbelt hadnt retracted properly - I see it sticking out of the bottom the lock goes up and down but the handle wont open it. Worse still the passenger door doesnt unlock (been like that since I got it and not gotten ar...

Ive been trying to find somewhere that has a sort of build diary/step by step deely so I know exactly whats involved (And a complete...

Re: Hello folks
Performance wise, If it wasnt for the lights on the button that switches from petrol to LPG you would probably struggle to notice. If you happen to be gunning it when it switches back to petrol from LPG cos its outta gas then you notice - cos it misses. The only real downside is that you can only re...

Re: Relocating the battery
Its a 40l tank - but you don't get to fill them, so i'm getting around 30l in there. I think you also get slightly less MPG than you do on petrol. I might try taking the spare wheel out at the weekend and popping to see the guy I know thats knowledgeable in these matters to see what size tank I can ...

Re: Relocating the battery
Yeah - It was suggested that I could put a donut tank where the spare is and even probably leave the one in the boot. But I havent gotten to look at the spare to see how big a tank would fit or how much space is there where the spare is. Or even if the battery acctually sits in the centre of the spa...

Relocating the battery
Has anyone ever tried relocating the battery at all. Other than moving it to the centre for the extra backbox I mean. My Z3 has been converted to LPG but the tank in the boot aint that big. Good for around 140 miles (on the + side it only takes £15 to fill it :) ). Be nice to put a larger tank in th...

The cobra kit was this :http://nubodi.moonfruit.com/kobra/4584382812 Not sure when ill look to invest in this as yet - thought I'd drive the car for a months and see how it pans out. I filled the gas tank up Tuesday night, and 135 miles later I need to fill it again. This isnt ideal since itll mean ...

Hello folks
Thought id post a quick hello. Bought myself a Z3 recently. I was getting a little bored of driving a VW Bora to work and saw a Z3 that had been converted to gas. Decided it would be rude not to.. esp since with LPG the effective MPG is around 48 - which is just shy of the 50 I was getting from the ...
