Bucket seat sliders/side mounts

Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade my drivers seat to a fixed back seat, the standard seat provides hardly any support around corners, even with seat spacer mod installed. I'm struggling to find a UK supplier for the sliders and mounting brackets, ideally i would like to use sliders but fixed is an opti...

Re: Hardtop fitting kit

I've finally managed to source a fitting kit, finally picked up the hardtop today, front bolts in and ratchet strapped to the seat base, worked perfectly. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxhPyccXIjKoanlYYU15Rl8yQTA/view?usp=docslist_api https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxhPyccXIjKocy1iVkdmdFZrZ1k/v...

Re: Hardtop fitting kit

I wouldn't worry too much about the heated rear window. I've never needed it when my top was fitted. I could probably make my own loom for the heated window, looks like a simple loom with basic plugs. Picking up the hardtop tomorrow, going to be interesting with no rear fixing brackets, lots of cab...

Do you know if the main rear brackets are available from BMW main dealer? I cannot seem to find any online, even on eBay.

Re: Running cold

Had the same issue with mine, the plastic securing lugs for the thermostat had snapped off. You can replace them with metal versions. Is that on an M44 engine? What lugs are those? Internal that secure the actual valve in place? Did they allow the valve to move slightly and affect operation? The me...

Hardtop fitting kit

Hi all, Just purchased a hard top for my Z3, is there anywhere in particular I can buy the full fixing kits? Am I right in thinking I need the rear fixing mounts, loom for heated window, heated window switch and screws? If anyone can point me in the right direction for those bits, that would be grea...

Toothpaste is a good way to remove grime from headlights, I've used it a couple of times and has come up well.

Re: Strut braces

It would be great to hear from anyone who has fitted the lower brace while on lowering springs. I live in London and my girlfriend drives the car a fair bit, I don't want to put the lower one on to have smashed to pieces by the evil speed humps after a few months. The car is currently on H&R 30m...

Re: Strut braces

Oh dear, that must of been annoying to find out it had been stolen.

I plan to use the car on track, nothing quite like a top down track day in the summer.

I found a pair of rear strut braces from Bertini, has anyone had any experience with this brand?

Strut braces

Hi all,

I am looking at getting some rear upper and lower strut braces for my Z3, I have read that the lower strut brace can be a concern with ground clearance, I am currently on H&R 30mm lowering springs and shocks.

Does anyone have an opinion on the results of fitting these braces?

My clock works, but no other functions such as mpg or outside temp. Have you checked the fuses on your car? If you have a multimeter it would be quick to check for power to your unit.

Re: Z3 2.8 remap after big port inlet manifold

Getting a remap tomorrow, also took the car out for a good drive, there is a noticeable kick at around 4.5k compared to the stock manifold setup. Can't wait for the remap to compliment the new manifold. I will try and get a dyno printout up too.

OBC won't cycle

Hi all,

So my circle OBC does not cycle through the options when the BC stalk is depressed. I've changed the stalk but to no avail. Is there any thing else I can check?

Thanks all!

Re: Z3 2.8 remap after big port inlet manifold

The bigger manifold allows alot more air compared to the standard, it isn't just a case shifting the torque from lower down. Obviously they require a remap to fully utilise the greater airflow. To be honest, I don't drive the car enough to notice a difference, but it's the equivalent of the m50 mani...

Re: Z3 2.8 remap after big port inlet manifold

To be honest, I don't drive the car enough to notice a difference, but it's the equivalent of the m50 manifold swap on the older 2.8. The M54b30 manifold that I fitted has much larger ports than the standard m52u.

Z3 2.8 remap after big port inlet manifold

Hi all

I've just installed the larger port inlet manifold from the 330ci onto my bmw z3 2.8 m52tu, I'm looking for a mapping company near London who will accommodate for the new manifold on the remap.

Thanks
