I managed to get a genuine MAF off EBAY bit of a risk as it was only £15.00 I thought I would take a risk, I'm happy to report this has solved the problem scanned again with no errors. Running some much better lets hope the sun comes out for the weekend.

Thanks for the replies, I've had the bellows off and there was no visible split. I can't see air getting in any where, sprayed some gas it to see if it reved higher. Hi I wondering if I can get some help with some INPA fault codes I ran a diagnostic this morning got an 10, 62, 52 & 51 I believe 10 is a lamda issue can this be either pre or post cat, not sure on 51,52 ignition issue on cylinders is this likely to be coil failure related. Thanks for your help

Its not great news.

I've not been driving the Z3 much and not filled it up to calculate MPG but its only done 96 mile to 1/2 a tank, you can watch the fuel gauge go down as you drive.

I'm at a bit of a loss I thought a good service would sort it, anybody got any ideas?

I had been suffering with poor starts when cold.

I just serviced mine with Mobil 1 0W40, I got mine from Costco I think it was just over £30 and the car starts on the button now.

Finally got the key fobs reprogrammed.

I had to dis arm the alarm with the BMW code using the ignition sequence as shorting the pins on the alarm control module was not working.

A fiddly job finally done.

Its been like being back in the 80's having to use a key to lock/unlock a car door.

Service completed starts on the button first time seems to be running smoother using 0W40 oil. the oil that came out was quite dirty so I think 4,000 miles or a 6 month change is in order to keep the engine clean.

I've run a new pipe to the air feed and brimmed the tank, I'll keep an eye on the mpg.
