Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?

New wiper blades, new piece of carpet for "de-bumping" the boot, cruise control retrofit components, Weichers front strut brace. Also new mats from Carmats2U which don't fit and they have ignored my request for a refund.

Re: Recommend me a front strut brace

Local chappie fitted my Weichers this morning (I don't have a torque wrench) and he commented that it's a really good one in comparison to others he's seen; some are style over substance apparently and leave so little thread to do the nuts back up. I've just driven my usual route home and I'd have ...

Cruise retrofitted!

Just finished the cruise control retrofit. About an hour for me too and works a treat straight "out of the box". A fantastic and straightforward add-on which will take some of the strain away on our upcoming trip to Bavaria. If I can do it, so can anyone with a little bit of DIY. Strut bra...

CD Changer free to collector or postage paid

Having removed the boot bump, the CD autochanger unit is now going begging. It ejects the cassette so probably works but I've never had the head unit to try it.

Free to a collector (East Sussex) or happy to send if you pay the postage.

PM me if interested.

Cheers

Not cheap: Interface £53.34 + VAT; switch £97.53 + VAT; knob (I guess it goes in the switch) £7.84 + VAT. So that's £158.71 + VAT.

So, thanks to articles and advice here, I'm now bump-free and waiting for the new top carpet to come in from Germany. As the CD changer was an option on all versions of the Z3, you can just order the "non CD changer" trim piece from your friendly BMW dealer's spares counter.

Thank you very much for that, most helpful!

CD Changer removal

Hi All I want to remove the changer and I think I can live with the hump. I found a great article on here about going humpless but in that article the changer had already been removed. I've searched and searched but not found the right answer. Is it simply a case of removing the two black plastic ri...

A new hood from Soft-Tops of Croydon. Dee's done a lovely job using Haartz Twilfast, which I understand is the same spec as OEM.

Thanks BonBon - that sounds like a simple and effective fix. :D I will give it a go!

Bonzo - I think this one is more SNAFU than FUBAR at the moment but it may become the latter if I don't do BonBon's fix correctly!

Cheers all.

Yes, we used PICNIC, Problem In Chair Not In Computer, also "Nut loose on the keyboard" or in this case "Nut loose behind steering wheel"!

Re: Centre vent suddenly lost air flow

Thank you Team! OK, so I pulled out the vent, started her up, whacked the fan to max and there was oodles of air coming from the centre vent hole. I did notice that the open/close mechanism on the vent was a little looser than I imagined, i.e. it could be closed by simply giving the vent a tap. So, ...

Centre vent suddenly lost air flow

Morning all. Coming back from a top down spin in the bright and cold weather of yesterday, I suddenly lost 95% of the hot airflow from the centre face vent. At the same time, the drivers side vent increased in air flow significantly. I'm imagining that a hose or summat has come off the centre vent b...

I bought some, they were 78mm but without the chrome bezel. Rather than wait 3+ weeks for a China eBay import, I thought I'd try here. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi all Picked up my 2.2 M Sport on Saturday and had the rear ditchfinders replaced with some nice new Pirellis. The fitter spotted that I have 3 wheels with 7.5 rim (I think) depth and 1 with 8.5. I guess that's 7.5Jx17 and 8.5Jx17. Does anyone know what they should be, please - I suspect 7.5 front ...

Afternoon all! New here - picking up a 2002 Z3 2.2 M Sport on Saturday, silver with black leccy roof, black leather interior, heated leccy seats, a/c, 101K miles.
