Re: Unwanted rumble
I had a rumble that sounded exactly a wheel bearing. It took the garage a lot of time to find it. It was the tyre(Dunlop!) that had delaminated. I suggest you check your tyres especially if they are old.

Re: What do you replace a Z1 with ?
As it happens I can sneak in the Corvette. The Scorpion exhausts on the Z1 were loud but the power did not match the noise. I could have had the car with a Corsa (didn't like the name) exhaust but asked to retain the original which is very quiet until you floor the throttle. So keep an eye on your r...

I've sold it ! I've enjoyed the car for 12 years, taken it to France 3 times, Holland twice, Scotland, Lake District, Cotswolds numerous times and just enjoyed driving it. I have the patent on a new stile Jack, I'm just looking for a manufacturer. It's ideal in a confined space ie a narrow garage. The idea is so that you can lift the car each corner in turn without moving it and put it on stands or support blocks. Picture shows the very crude prototype. The finished m...

With the potential collapse of the Euro and a possible loss of about 20% against the pound, Z1s are going to be much cheaper for UK buyers sourcing from Europe. What do you reckon ? Hi
Thanks for the information.
Sam, I think you are probably right, it depends on the car as much as the tyre. Toyos it is - I might as well have 4 matching and I don't drive on the limit very often and prefer sunshine to the rain anyway.
PS the cracks are too big for araldite

I made up a 1mm aluminium plate to strengthen the wing mount and have replaced the wing. There are so many things I could try to adjust on the doors but knowing my luck I'd probably make it worse, so I've put the washers under the mount to lift it clear.
