I thought I would post my car on the forum before I put it up for sale on autotrader etc. I bought the car in October 2011 from a friend of mine, who owned it for the previous 2 years, and have set about renewing and refurbishing it over the last year or so. Sounds like they are worn out to me. Had the same thing on mine last year, total bone-shaker! You wont find anything trying to push on the corners and looking for a bounce or anything like that, the springs are too stiff and wont give even if the shocks are completely shot. One of mine had leaked an...

Check this site out. Suggests 215/45/17 suits 8.5J maximum. Sounds like cheap rear tyres might be an issue.
As a comparison the standard 17" staggered sets have 225/45/17 front on 7.5J and 245/40/17 on 8.5J rears.

I changed the lower wishbones (ball joints were shot) and also fitted the purple powerflex bushes in November last year. After a laser wheel alignment the car was spot on. I would have no hesitation in recommending them, makes everything feel tight and precise.

At a guess, I think the seller is suggesting the M54 engine is the basis of the S54 M3 engine. A bit tenuous to say the least, but they will have plenty of time to amend the advert because it will never sell at that price anyway!

I've done suspension a couple of times now (on different z3s) and have always bought new hex bolts. A couple of pounds each I think. Staggered 17" alloys with wider rears were optional on Z3s. Many 2.8 and 3.0 Z3 variants came with these type of wheels as standard. The ones that will fit are 7.5J and 8.5J wide with offset 41. If you go to this site http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/Z/Z3-E36 The Z3M wheels , STYLE 40, do not fit....

It also explains offset very well too

You just need to connect the splitter to a +12V source. The easiest way is to just splice onto the live feed to the headunit either by soldering or even with a screw terminal block. I have a 2001 Z3 3.0 and used the same splitter with the standard aerial and it works perfectly well. The Z3 electrica...
