From what i remember the non SE versions were for the first year only and the spec was very much the same. (depending on what options were added) The 3.0l is about 35Bhp more powerful thatn the 2.5, is also has a 6 speed gearbox as opposed to the 2.5's 5 gears. Its not a massive difference, but is s...

SMG box has been dropped in current models in favour of a DSG. A subtle hint from BMW themselves. What a load of crap, nearly all older technology has been dropped for newer technology with everything that has ever been made by BMW.! The SMG is fine to use, easier than a manual and more invo...

And who did you get to fit the non runflats? I was going to get a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2's from Costco (they have a 20% off offer at the mo) but they refused to fit them :( Thanks. Local Tyre shop changed mine, more than once. Some dealers complain about an inability to get the runflats off,...

I've never understood why people get upset about Front Fog lights. They are dipped light...

What Lotus are you driving? I was very tempted in to an Elise recently. I test drove a 111R but it didn't really do too much for me. I'd be interested to hear any comparisons and opinions you have of each. I have a Europa S. It is much more basic than the Z, but much more connected to the road. The...

I would be interested to know what 'manual' shifting (i.e. pushing the lever forward or backwards) is like with the SMG compared to the 'normal' auto? For the SMG it feels like a standard manual gear change, only much faster, most people only experience a jerky ride if they don't lift the gas pedal...

SMG on the Z4 is a 6 speed manual gear box with an automated clutch. Gear changes can be made in auto mode where the car decides or in manual mode where you use paddles or the gear stick. SMG cars come with steering wheel paddles as standard, there are not many SMG's around. Automatic is a fully aut...
