sorry, i didn't realise the carpet was nylon. :( i replaced my carpet when i did the interior colour change. it is easy enough to do apart from 1 thing - the heater matrix is in the way. i actually cut my old carpet out and then cut out the section under the matrix from my new carpet then fitted it....

mine started doing exactly the same, just out of the blue one day a couple of weeks ago.
i unplugged the MAF and it ran fine so i bought a genuine Bosch MAF (from a BMW breakers near me that was tested and guaranteed), plugged it in and it now runs fine again.

i am buying chrome hoops to replace my standard OEM black ones. trouble is i have seen a few for sale on ebay but i'm unsure of the quality and fitment.

i have found out that my reset tool doesn't reset the airbag on an E36, just E46 onwards

(however it does reset the service lights

)
anyway, i called the local BMW specialist and they said they will reset it for a tenner so happy days.

i have removed the centre console but i want to replace the gearknob, the only thing is i can't figure out how to remove it.
(my Bentley manual only shows the removal of the American T bar type)
