have you got the dished washers on the top the right way round?
they should be cupped away from the mount. i found out the hard way and put them on upside down and they rattled like hell.

no, it was working fine and has been tested now it's off. in sport mode it holds the revs a lot longer before changing gear so it's really obvious when it has been selected.

Re: a couple of questions......

By disconnecting the switch (did you disconnect the battery before pulling connectors off?) you've probably reset the ECU memory. The fuel consumption will be different while the ECU re-learns engine settings. This used to happen on my Transit Connect van, after the battery had had been disconnecte...

i have sworn by V power for the last year or so. the guy who mapped my Impreza saw a significant reduction in power when running it on 95 ron and my zed runs much better after a few tanks full. to coin a phrase.....it does what it says on the tin. you won't see an immediate difference but stick with...

another suggestion, the rear springs from eurocarparts make the back end sit much higher. i fitted them to my 1.9 and the back end went up by at least an inch. i soon took them off and fitted lowering springs as it was way too high for a standard Z3 but it might work for your build? Re: Z3 1.8 gone wide, need help for wheels

i think you'll find that the 1.8 and 1.9 (4cyl) use a narrower axle to the 6 cyl models as they have narrow rear arches. the M also uses a narrower axle to accommodate the wide lip rear wheels under the wide arches. the 6 cyl use a wider rear axle under the wide arches. this applies to all pre-facel...
