The BMW tailored cover is made of Technolon fabric. It is soft to the touch but can be used indoors or out. Have only used it extensively indoors but doubt it would produce scratches unless put over a dirty car.

Hey Jet,

In your major mod suggestion you forgot the necessary replacement bake pressure relief valve!

I'm in the same position with original pads and 26k miles. So far I have got away with leaving extra baking distance when driving amongst "moderns".

Hi Sam,

The answer is yes. But E36 item would probably do the trick for less cash and more readily available.
As your other respondent says I think the E46 rack will also fit. My understanding is the only other parts that might need changing are the rack feed pipes.

Can't help with tech. on plastics, but I believe Michael Kabbert makes repair pieces for the forks on the front "bumper".

We will probably make at least a week of it. Thinking of taking a couple of days on the way down just gently cruising the byways.

Hi,

Did you notice that the rubbers, that conceal the mounting bolts on the insides of the front wings are absent?
Perhaps it might help to reduce under bonnet temp and the risk of the plastics distorting?

Hi Southernboy and Forum visitors, The valve issue is not a problem for most of our readers. The Z1 does not have a DISA valve like the Z3. It is clear that filter systems have to cope with variable environments but it is likely that the OEM article has satisfied manufacturers comprehensive testing....

Peter,
Astonished at the low prices you have paid for Z1 headlights and radiator. I had to buy just a new headlamp glass some while ago and it was over £100.
If you have a particular place in the UK for Z1 parts perhaps you might share it with this forum's members?

Hi Budget,

Sounds reasonable compared to other prices currently on the european "for sale" sites. But if you go for it the cambelt is a priority job. Always worth doing the water-pump and idler roller at the same time.

I am quite familiar with the term MAF however if you look at BMW's parts list you will find it uses the term I headed this thread with. Right or wrong it seemed logical to use the term BMW used to describe the part!
