I don't have any problems doing it all my self having built two cars (kit car and a mgb gt) and sevicing more cars thst you can shake a stick at , I'm also a qualified engineer but I like to have a qualified bmw fitter to double check my car as they should have a lot more experience inspecting and c...

that did say I could suply my own oil which would save£108.03 don't fancy doing the brake fluid change due to abs/asc, and plugs don't cost that much but the body inspection is what I think is important

picked up 2 infill pannels that go by the fog lights and a new bulb for the heater display(1 fitted last time but needed 2)

just got an estimated for the above from my BMW garage£490.99 of that bmw oil £108.03 labour £303.51 that does include brake fluid change plugs and 2 filters

got any clear ones left ,when I rebuild the front end on my z3 I neaded replacement head lights and didn't know about clear /yellow indicators mines post face lift but got pre ones

a mate of mine thought he was being helpful reached over grabbed my door handle gave it a tug but with 15 stone behind it pulled the door card and handle off busting the plastic lug that the screw goes through, fixed it with super glue and bicarb

I contacted the dvla passed over a few beer tokens got full details as to owned it mot dates and milages and any reported cat c or d,went back to for first reg date

just seen an advert on ebay for a z3 with a 2ltr engine but in the details he said it was a straight 6 photo on the back of the car showed 2ltr did bmw do a 2 ltr straight 6?

had a look managed to get some of the carpet out on one side and fount the top mount, but before I go further think I will take the seats out to check for damp and give me more room to do the top mounts

I'm not going to sell any thing on fleebay after trying to sell my kit car that advised me on the sell description, didn't sell the first week so they suggested I put it up again which I did twice just what it was the wrong description section as I put a reserve cost me £390

just got some new rear top mounts for my zed but how do you get to them , looks like you need to remove the carpet behind the seats if so how do you get the carpet out ?

on my zed the leak it had would fill the little tray by the seat switch turned out to be the plug at the end of the windscreen rubber seal where the soft top meet the windscreen as above puncture patch fixed it, I thought it was some thing to do with the door seals

puncture kit to fix the plug at the end of the windscreen rubber where it meet the top, looks like the original bung had come loose on 1 side letting in water

did the Applecross pass a couple of years ago with some chaps in our robinhood2b's did the Duke pass as well the Applecross pass is as narrow as thre hardknot but with less switch backs , if you look on YouTube for robinhood Scottish road trip you will see some vids on there

Just done the hardnot pass in my z3 you need a front camera to see where your going as the road drops below the bonnet so you can't see what's there magic run though

fog light needed
last year a pheasant decided to hit my off side fog light and won /lost he knocked it off breaking the tabs the hold it in , I did stick them back on and have lasted untill now, does any one have an off side fog light for a face lift z3? I also need the small bits that fit next to the lights

I use to put one in my old mini drain plug ,some times the swarf is too small to see in the filter, if I saw a beard on the plug I knew it was time to strip the engine down

must be lucky, my zed's got sport seats , face lift 2.2 this year been to Le Mans twice 1400 miles each time only stop off for fuel , drink-empty, off again get out still fresh no stiffness in back or legs took me some time to get my seat height and rake just right now spot on

cheers,, they are only about 2mm thick so I don't think it will cause a problem, they just take up the gap that the original rubber gromits had, but I will keep an eye on it

finally go arround to fixing the rattling glove box door that was anoying swmbo , I stuck two of those little clear plastic buttons that you use to stop kitchen doors from banging, I put one on each of the rubber gromits on the iside of the door work brill no more moaning from swmbo

mine was perspex type I broke it trying to get it out without dropping the soft top bent it too far, the only thing wrong with it was I could not open the top cubby hole or put thing behind it
