I've posted a link to this thread on the z3mcoupe.com forum so that the members on there can also keep their eyes open for something Phoenix Yellow. I sincerely hope that you get the car back undamaged. Hopefully, the thieves will attempt to use your credit cards which can then act as a trace for th...

I think when you look at the single ear diff mount under the car, looks worse than it is IMO as the diff is bolted to the subframe by 4 large bolts just further forward. As the diff will try and twist the subframe the easiest way to prevent as much movement is by stiffer mounts or back packing the ...

Basically, all I am saying is that even if a consumer Sat Nav system, such as TomTom, totally ignores the change in altitude of a car on its travels,to all intents and purposes, it is good enough to give a reasonably accurate speed reading on most commonly encountered road gradients in the UK and is...

Here's a little thing I've done as an Excel DB showing the difference between the hypoteneuse (representing the road in reality) and the base (the road on a map). If GPS Sat Nav works solely from assessing your position on a map, where your altitude is ignored in the calculations, then the GPS speed...

Re: Intake or a crappy shifting technique?
Here's the problem. The car accelerates really well up to about 85 MPH. Then, with pedal to the floor in 5th it just creeps along. It sounds like the engines screaming but it just doesn't get up and go very quickly. If the engine revs don't seem to be matching the road speed that you'd expect then ...

In the days of carburettors and non-computerised engine management, the throttle opens the air intake into the engine which in turn aspirates fuel into the air-flow entering the engine. Therefore when you lift off the throttle, the amount of air entering the engine is considerably reduced, with a co...

I tend to alternate fill-ups between ordinary unleaded (95 RON) and tesco 99 RON. I'm puzzled to know your reasoning for this. The ECU will adjust to 99 RON with use and then you go and change things by sticking 95 RON in, so the ECU then has to readapt for 95 RON. Would it not be wiser to use the ...

It just looks like you are arguing against the effectiveness of a mod (subframe bushes) that you haven't done. Actually, this is where I disagree with you most. Stiffer bushings do nothing to prevent the movement of the bolts, on the contrary, I think they may actually make it worse. Any movement in the subframe is normally absorbed by the rubber bush. If you remove this ability by fitting a stiffer bush th...

The handling of my MC is now outstanding and much better than the new Z4 MC.
