If you want it the electric hood can be retrofitted, a kit is available from BMW to convert your manual hood.

Thinking about coming over for this again (had great craic last year 8-) )

Can anyone tell me where and what time the run will end on Sunday, I would have to make it back to Holyhead for 19.45 to catch the ferry and don't really want to cut and run too early.

That's horrible! Looks more like mould eventually leading to corrosion to me. You must have a leak somewhere and maybe you don't use your Zed very often so the air remains stagnant and moist? Prevention? Drive your Zed with the top down.... :D A. Thats the odd thing there is no leak that I can see ...

Easy enough to swap the seats, however as Tony mentioned you will need switches and a relay. Also if the seats come from a face lift model you will need to change the electrical plugs on the seats to allow you to connect them to a preface lift model. If this is the case PM me and I can give you part...

My guess would be a faulty relay ( there are two mounted next to the Powerhood pump in the Boot) If the microswitch was faulty then the pump would still stop when you removed your foot from the brake pedal. Either that or a short in the wiring somewhere. Either way it sounds like a job for someone w...

I have now done around 5000 miles (including the trip to the Lakes and Back) with the Z3M mounts fitted (the wrong way around) and have no adverse tyre wear so the increase in negative camber can't be to severe!

In my opinion it certainly is a better drive with them fitted.

I doubt it, you should be able to relocate one (probably the alarm LED would be easiset) to the blanks between the seats (behind your left elbow when seated).

Ocasionally they come up on Ebay, I bought a pair earlier this year for a bargain £250, switches are around £40 each from a dealer and you will also need a relay (£5) all the wiring is in place already.

Happy hunting

you will have to lift the front of the hood enough to break the contact on the microswitch you fitted to the hood frame. You also have to have your foot on the brake before the powerhood will operate.

Regarding Oil I would stick to the stuff supplied by bmw for that pump.

All the wiring is in the car as standard, the mounting bracket you may be able to buy seperately but mine came as part of the kit. I wouldn't think it would be to hard to fabricate something as it only needs to carry the weight of the pump
