The black part slides out, on your picture you can see in the yellow plastic there is what looks like a rounded cut out. Pull the black and it slides a bit like a match box. It's used to hold the plugs together so they don't work loose. I've read this three times and it makes no sense :oops: :roll:...

Yaw sensor under the seat. It is the one mounted on the floor also called transverse acceleration sensor. The only time I used my code reader (for the ever-so-popular airbag light), I remember needing a few attempts at resetting the faults with the machine before it did. Are you sure the faults were properly reset and then reoccurred? Wouldn't it be a waste of time and money to go through all that hass...

If you have to replace it, it may well be more cost effective to simply replace the entire unit. Perhaps start with Andy aka Spurs fan in a coupe to find out if he can help with a replacement unit. You might well need to have it re-coded to your car - I'm not sure about that part of the fitting sce...

Thanks for that,thats what i tried a few times with my
old key but it wouldn't initialise so i opened it up & found
corrosion on pcb. I might try the used key route & see
as they are only £12 or so, worth a try instead of £120+
from BMW.

Can you program a second hand remote key off Ebay as i'm needing a spare
and there are a few for sale. Mine is the later 3 button type.

Have already ordered polybushes for the rear. The only place where polybushes can give problems are the rear trailing arm bushes - they apparently have a tendency to squeak. THe standard ball joint is like in the second link and is mounted in a rubber bush on the E36 and Z3, the one on the first link is the older E30 style ball joint and is used for E30s and E36s with the poor road pack fitted. The E30 wishbones are the same as non M E36 wishbones. You can fit the E30 ...

far simpler to get a replacement wishbone, You would need a heavy duty press to replace the individual ball joint, Plus changing the wishbone changes both inner and outer ball joints, rather than leaving you with one part worn joint. Not sure about CD light,mines under a tarp at the moment so can't check. The gear knob just pulls off, if there is wires there thats for the light. Also the "lights on" warning buzzer stops working. The dash lights & buzzer work through the rheostat. Pretty easy fix if thats what it is...
