You certainly dodged one there !! Replacement isn't too difficult... a jack to support the engine from below should do it, or if you have an overhead block & tackle that will also do.

Those were the symptoms on my previous 2.8. It finally gave in without any other warning. When it did give in it made an ugly grinding noise and simply refused to engage any more. You just don't want to do any damage to the fly wheel if the clutch plate loses the surface gripping compound and ends u...

Re: The site/home page is very slow to connect.
I've experienced that from time to time. I think it's more to do with the external service provider servers that connect to this site - they sometimes get over subscribed and everything slows down. I don't think it's the forum server that's the problem, because when I do eventually connect, there is...

Re: Steering noise
Do you have any "leaks" on the hoses from the reservoir to the steering rack - check where they fit to the rack. If you have a leak, it's possible that you have an air pocket in the system. Alternately, you may need a service on the system to check for internal rack issues. Also, check the...

If you can slightly open it up so it's slightly wider at the widest point, it will clip into the hole in the pillar more securely. You want to widen it so that when it clips into the hole, it pulls the trim towards the pillar firmly, but make sure the wide point in the clip passes all the way into t...

The electrics are essentially the brake lights, the indicator lights and a number plate light. So, what would be required is to link into those three facilities on the car. - not very complicated. The fitting instructions should come with the kit as far as the mechanical requirements go, and provided...

Alternately, just buy a headlamp with the amber lens - cheaper and common enough - then simply swap out the components you need from the "new" unit to your existing headlamp... not a difficult job.

Re: Wing mirror removal. Can i do it without removing door
With the weather / environment you guys have being the main culprit of mirror / base seizure, it seems a small modification should be made to the mirrors. Possibly a small hole (4mm) drilled in the outer section of the mirror near the joint to the base, through which grease can be forced. A small ru...

1. check all the rubber "hoses" from the MAF to the throttle - remove them and check for cracks where air can leak in. 2. Spark plugs. 3. injectors - use a short length of 8mm plastic hose / pipe and place next to each injector with the other end in your ear, and listen for rythmic "t...

Yes.... Twist the mirror and remove both base bolts. At this point you can cut the 2 electrical wires and then create new couplings when you replace everything. If you create "socket" connectors it will mean you won't need to cut them in future again if you decide to remove the mirrors. Yo...
