Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Have you tried the digital readout? If this reads okay then I would suspect the guage or wiring to the guage, if the digital is also dropping to zero then my guess is that it is the wiring before it gets to the cluster or the stat itself.

I read somewhere that some pedals are for racing only and that insurance companies don't like them - I think this applies to the all metal pedals as these offer little or no grip if your feet are wet. Not quite sure whether this applies to cars that have metal only pedals as standard though...

Just filled up with V-Power at 96.9p (prices seem to be down a little this week). Have only done about 10 miles on it so far - will go for a decent run later in the week. Too early to tell any difference performancewise - but I think my 1.9 will still have trouble blowing the skin of a rice pudding....
