Cracked bellhousing - to weld or not to weld
Well i knew i should have stayed in bed ! I spent the morning levelling the engine in the car and tweeking the gearbox cross member to make everything dead level and straight. Job done. Removed the engine and gearbox from the car and as i lowered it to the deck i heard a 'ping' i knew what it meant,...

Agreed, i have also done the same as you, coilovers etc. Transforms the carBench wrote:Glad you wrote that Mark I get bored of reading the same drivel also....I have 18's with coil overs. Personally I preferred the look of full arches. The handling is brilliant as i have uprated the suspension all round.

Re: Simple!
The answer is simple - wheels and tyres have become cosmetic accessories! People are bombarded with magazine articles and pictures telling them that they MUST have the largest diameter wheels and the lowest profile tyres in order to be fashionable. They may work on the billiard table-like roads of ...

There would be no difference with the number of tailpipes, it is the number of pipes from the manifold that affect performance. As you can see from Tori's setup, this splits at CAT area, but this will have little performance improvements as such. It is a 3 to 1 to 2, which sounds and looks good, bu...

I have just had the battery replaced on my mini under warranty. It failed before xmas and then again last week. It completely gave up !! BMW were somewhat reluctant to replace it, but they did after a day of various tests !! I am glad about it too as it cost close to £200 ! - i am sure the stop/star...

Dear Mr. markrv8norton, you caught me in a bad mood today. If I read an OP like this one, I tend to ask myself why it only becomes apparent in the third post, after GazHyde helped out, what the hell the OP is typing about. My apologies if I pissed you off. No worries, caught me on a bad day too :he...

You two should read the post instead of trying to be clever. Help out the OP with his lights. Not be complete spanners.Sorcerors Apprentice wrote:I have to agree with BimBeema.z3sam wrote:Hi,

what i don't understand is the reason people have to post in a thread where simeon balsam asked which spoiler to get.... not if he should get one or not. if you don't like them and see them as spoiling your car then don't post on it. remember there are people on here that have added the spoiler and...

C'mon please !!
You shouldn't say "it doesn't spoil mine" because I (and others) think it does  Matters such as this are expressions of aesthetic taste (or lack of it) Rather than stated as a material fact, it would be better expressed as "I don't think it spoils mine" This is not to cri...

Weight saving
Well after a bit of a lay off from working on the car made a start yesterday. Weight saving is still on my agenda, so i removed the standard seats, easy 10 minute job, and sold them already. Happy with that. Plus found £3.27 and an old fruit pastel - result (the money not the pastel) Original seats ...

Take a look at the first few items here Quite straightforward really. Just remember not to switch the ignition on with the seats disconnected otherwise you'll get an airbag light on that won't reset without a special tool  Sorry to hijack, Ian, is there any way of loading the circuit when the...

I think the most you'd see out of the 1.9 on a small budget would be 20-25hp thats Viscous fan delete, air filter, exhaust, hi-flow cat, big bore throttle body and a re-map (this needs to be done by somebody who knows BMW's as well) I did a little write up on tuning the m44 on a budget (performance ...
