Re: Cleaning BBS LM reps

They are a pain to clean but look great when they are. Before you fit them (I presume they are new?) make sure you seal them with a good quality sealant and probably a couple of coats. Poorboys wheel sealant is ok but doesn't last that long or use something like Collinite 476 or FK100P (I think that...

Anyone know the easiest way to remove the doors? Does all the wiring need to be disconnected inside the door itself or can you disconnect it from under the footwell somewhere? If it's an OEM window you might want to consider cutting your losses and selling only that for probably not far short of your latest asking price if you put it on ebay. It's a good way of getting parts you need now by buying a breaker or non runner and taking the parts you want off it and then repairing to sell it on. They do seem to be more effective than the OEM ones though and you don't lose the ability to see through the rear view mirror when fitted. Although you do lose the option of opening the top cubby box. Also they are the only option you have if you have schnitzer or aftermarket hoops fitted.

Personally if my car was in show condition and I wanted to keep it original and mint it would go into BMW. I don't think £400 is that bad considering the cost of a genuine screen and the price they charge for labour and especially compared to the thousands they charge to supply and fit a genuine roof.
