Re: Z3M V8 Conversion
What is the expected BHP of this mod, the USA one that s up for sale in this thread was a 400BHP engine, seems a lot of expense in terms of money and man hours for so little gain that they could have got the same performance from robust mods of the existing 3.2. Or is it a because I can challenge, ...

haha very funny
Pierrick - the silencers are Megan Racing, part MR-MU-MDT-T. They do a 2 1/2" inlet version which would work well for a standard z3m. Im thinking of making a few sets to sell on when I have got the 'hooligan' back on the road.

Order a new pair of silencers from USA. These should make the exhausts sound a bit more throaty:

You cant allow any movement between the tower and plate since the nuts would need to be tight otherwise they would just chew through the top of the tower. You could try the plates out to see if they are noisy or sell them on ebay.

Disconnect the ARB. That will let you push the arm lower. Its a bit tricky getting the spring out. With the shock and arb off it just needs some brute force to push the arm down.

I dont see it being complicated. The engine needs low back pressure in the exhaust. Twin 3" pipes will give me that with growth potential to ~700hp if I want to increase the engine power more in the future. Most of the scavenging is done in the header and 4 into 1 long tubes with equal length p...

Agree with Mark you will get a handfull of extra hp max. Its just a change to the crank pulley and a shorter belt. You will be fine with that oil. You should change oil yearly irrespective of when the oil light comes on. Frequency of change is important to keep the lubricant fresh and free from the effects of condensation and blow-by.

If you get chance to change the bushes I recommend you do it. You will notice a more stable and predictable rear suspension response. The fact that your car is a 1.9 doesnt come into it. The subframe bushes dont squeek - that is associated with poly trailing arm bushes, as you say.

Favourite affordable mods from me:
Rear subframe bushes, makes the rear more predictable, safer to drive
Front strut brace
quick steering rack
negative camber on front suspension.
New rear shocks.
We are lucky in that there are endless mods that can be done to these cars to improve them.
