Re: MOT - just scraped through :( any advice?

2 and a half years since its last oil change. Yearly at the very least. The low mileage makes it worse as your oil is holding the water of 2 1/2 years condensation cycles with the engine probably never run long enough at temperature to evaporate the suspended water. Your sport cat is probably a 200 ...

Re: Insurance - result :-)

I'll stick with Pace Ward. High performance specialists, track day cover, sprint cover all modifications, etc. Sometimes cheap is exactly that. Can end up fighting for your cover over an overlooked mod or uprated brake pads and the like. Specialist may be a little more but when push comes to shove I...

Re: 3.0L =- what tyres?

Have used Goodyear all 3 variants, Michelin ps2,Hankook v12evo,yokohama ao46,Toyo t1r, all on a 450hp evo but have been using Uniroyal rainsport 3 exclusively on the evo, alfa GTV and z3 for the past year. Amazing wet grip and excellent dry. Camskill tyres have excellent prices.

Would advise an engine oil and filter every year. A transmission oil and filter change will probably help your shift issue.

Seems to be a few members going by the flags but looking through the forum ,meets seem to be few and far between. Just bought the car after 10 years with evos. Am a member and trader on the Mitsubishi Lancer Register which is very active. Stop by the garage or ring anytime.

Eicher discs are fine. Don't scrimp on brake pads. The pagid are good but not a performance pad. For better performance look to Hawk,Carbotech,Pagid RS,Performance Friction.

Re: New toy

Never been a fan of bm's M series cars mate. Less power that the evo and the handling not as sharp. On a Scottish b Road nothing touches them and they're not to shabby on track either. An M would leave me wanting more power where as the 2lt z is what it is. A few handing mods and optimal tune will s...

Welcomr to the Forum  Interested to know why the change from an Evo to a Zed, big difference. Had 10 years with 2 evo and 170,000 miles. Wasn't getting the use of the evo due to starting my own business. A lass was looking for another evo for track work so I let mine go to do what it was made...

New toy

Picked this 2.0 up a couple of weeks ago. After 9 years with a 420hp evo it's a bit more sedate. Will be interesting to see how it does at spa and the ring next year. http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww186/stevov/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20141222_171851.jpg http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww186/ste...

Re: New Z3 owner from Glasgow

Congrats on the car. I'm down in East Ayrshire and I just bought one at the first of December myself. A silver 2.0. Big change from my previous car of 9 years a 420 hp evo 5. Enjoying it though. Much more sedate. Will see how it handles the ring and Spa next year.
