Re: Cat Delete on a 2.8 Z3

That's not to say it should have. If that particular tester doesn't care that is up to him/her, but just because they don't doesn't make it right. You can go to another test station saying " it passed like this last year" which puts someone else under pressure to do likewise. :head:

Always try the grovelling letter. I did a good few years ago with the predecessors of the Environment Agency over fishing license. My friend couldn't be bothered. He went to court and was fined I didn't and never heard any more about it. Got to be worth a try?

Re: Not a good day

To compare engine remove/refit between a Frogeye and a Z3 is really stretching things Rob. And surely the cost of parts would be a long way apart even though Frogeye parts will come at a fair premium. At the very least 4 cyl versus 6 cyl. I guess the moral of this story is to get a written quotation...

Mine is catless with a stainless rear box (unknown make) and it's pretty loud, would really like a standard system but too expensive for my tastes! You'll also need a friendly MOT tester :) What you really need is an M.O.T. tester who says to you bring me the car with the cat still fitted so I can ...

If you don't have the hydro/electric motor gear to sell does it really make any difference? Surely the actual soft top would be the same regardless how it was raised and lowered. Unless there are extra brackets to accommodate the motors. If a car needs them they are there, if not you wouldn't need t...

Years ago when I was a lad, I think it was Humbrol, who did upholstery paint for plastic(pvc) interiors. I used it on my mini(s) because most mini interiors were awfull colours. As I said some are better than others but really you can't beat a hard sired connection.that's why I ended up changing my head unit for a Sony one. I still use an MP3 player but it wires into the front panel of the head unit and the player lives in the holder I used for my iPod. It also has USB sock...

Unless you have an aux port on the front or even rear of your head unit then I think you're stuck with the transmitter type. I have an i-trip for iPod nano which I find to be great . Some are much better than others. I also have a miniature phone type of grip holder which fastened to my centre conso...

I had this problem on my 2000 car last spring, checked all wiring etc. Eventually traced fault to n/s door solenoid. Replaced with a part sourced at Euro Car parts in Lincoln at £36(trade). This fixed the problem, been fine ever since. Took about 45 mins to fit.
