Re: Gearbox/transmission mount

Drivetrain shunt, especially 1st to 2nd gear is normal and reduced most by careful clutch and throttle control I'd say. Even with my propshaft rubber joint breaking up (almost split everywhere) there isn't much difference with a brand new one! For me the drivetrain just feels a bit tighter with the ...

Re: yellow koni's with eibach springs

Koni Yellow are adjustable in rebound only, this is good if you have a stiff spring for track as you don't need massive bump setting to control pitch/dive. Front Konis are normally "inserts" which means your original struts need cutting up and the koni damper "inserting" in to it...

This would be a really easy job if te propshaft wasn't in the way! The gearbox support bracket which sits below the gearbox is held on by 4 bolts on the underside of the body, with the two mounts sat on top with the gearbox sat on those. It's accessing the top bolts for each mount that is difficult ...

Just buy the Z3M bushes, they are the same bush with the voids almost completely filled/stiffer rubber but with attention paid to NVH. Fitting isn't that bad, can swap the bushes in a vice and use fairy liquid to get them back on the wishbones.

If the car is stock then they won't fit. But if you have lowered it AND swapped the top mounts left to right you can get away with it - there is still some poke though.

I run 8.5J ET13 on the front of mine with a 215/40 tyre and there is only small amount of poke.

Yes as above these are M Sports rather than Z3M, very similar just different leather and stitching.

With the scuffing on the driver's bolster that can be fixed with a black dye that would make them look like new. Even just bumper black works to mask any wear!

A 235/40/18 would look a bit "tall" on your car.

I would run 225/40/17 and 255/35/17.

The ET35 offset on the rear should be ok, it's 5mm further out than et40 of course, but not a lot, and with a 255 tyre shouldn't rub,

MZ3 LSD is clutch pack so you can test by jacking up the rear and both wheels will turn in the same direction. Yes, it will all fit. The rear will be fine (both dampers and springs). The front will also all fit but you MUST use a Z3M spring or aftermarket spring for Z3M as the diameter is smaller. The reason for this is the Z3M top mounts have a lot of caster meaning the top of the strut is pulled back (a st...

The problem with the M bumper is that it's more like a 1.9 with corner splitters designed in. It's design is very much like the E46 M Sport bumper. It looks good, the 2.8/3,0 although deep is a bit plain - the Z3M bumper would have been better if it was the depth of the 2.8 THEN had the corner split...
