nice, i got a spare raspberry pi here.... was using it as a torrent server, and did use it briefly for running XBMC, and also used it for a cam server... but into different stuff now...

just thought i share these.... fitted tonight... real easy to fit and much better than stock, i bought 4 for £3.79 real nice crisp white light, not sure if they are polarity sensitive, i check the voltage and the + and - terminal with my meter and installed them the correct way, and they worked spot...

have a look at my thread on beige wheel.. i try and find you a linky, but basically you need torx bits i think t27 and t20, and a 18mm to remove the wheel. disconnect the vehicle battery too so as not to trigger air bag light...

no obd socket under dash.... i just use the 21 pin pacman style plug.... there is a plug on the other side of the engine bay too... not sure what that is for....

My 1998 Z3 1.9 hasnt got an inside 16 pin obd port under the steering column, but has 2 connectors under the bonnet one is just above the ABS pump on the right side lloking from the front, and the other is on the left side just in front of the realy box... what are the two ports for ? I have ordered...

I have a set of moulds to cast them in. Problem is, the fella that was doing them for me, and at a reasonable price nearly killed himself in a pro cycling off road race... He's not quite been himself since then. He used his head as the primary landing gear, and in spite of wearing a regulation helm...

diff oil drained yesterday, plugs came out no prob.... left it overnight to drain went to halfords today to try and get some fully synthetic diff oil but none there so will have to wait until tomorrow to get some in readiness...... bought a set of driving gloves, and a trapper hat, also treated my beige wheel to a refurb, all fitted now and looks loads better, hence the reason for driving gloves...

just curious but does the ecu have a battery backed memory chip like a computer bios, that maybe over the years could go flat and then when the vehicle battery is disconnected the battery backed eprom reverts to its default value...? its only a thought, and not having taken the ecu apart i would not...

always remember my dad doing some work on his car, and there used to be open cells on tops of the battery i.e. all the cells were coming out the top of the battery and connected in series, he leant across the battery with a casio watch with a stainless steel strap. and you can imagine what happened ...

see i seem to think that by disconnecting the battery it does sort of reset something, as i disconncted mine a few times to do the seat bushes, and to change my steering wheel, and every time after i reconnected battery i get real bad fuel consumption, but it has settled down again after a few tankf...

i have just took my driver side headlight out to see how its done, and removed the spring clips, i have give it all a real good clean and oiled up the 4 securing bolts, i not going to do the deed until after this weekend, as we have a big run out, and dont want to miss it if i muck up one of my head...
