If the temp behaves normally in the car in driving and traffic, I think the pump diagnosis doesn't sound right. I'd expect the car to get very hot if the coolant isn't being assisted!

There's a supercharged Z3M called Boomer, who's owner I've met on a Norfolk'N Good run a while back and I recall talk of another, which we've never tracked down yet.

I'm sure Boomer was featured in a BMW mag a year or two ago.

Couldbe the system needs bleeding? First place I'd look if the heater was working OK before you changed the thermostat?

GSF is a good source of consumables, like a thermostat. BMW tend to do these at reasonable prices too.

I really like the look of it- it's a serious weapon too ... Just the money to find and then I hate to say it but for me I'd probably put my 22 into something else :roll: I don't know what I would pick but 20 grand buys a lot of motors... Maybe a m coupe for the commute, and a roadster for weekend, ...

Not the cheapest though.

Nos is quite a bit cheaper and will give you something extra when you want.

What about driver trainig, tyres, brakes, braces first though?

As said, 1.9 handles really nicely IMHO.

If you lift the car off the deck and look at the bottom of the shiny rod, you probably will see oil. If the garage says they're leaking, I would believe them and replace. Your braking efficiency and stability can be significantly compromised by a leaking & poorly performing shock absorber. Lots ...

Poly V belt isn't critical AFAIK as it drives ancilliaries only. Small cracks also wouldn't be a major cause of concern to me, but might be worth getting changed at the next service. Wouldn't recommend green stuff, worst I've used. Have you had your fluid changed in the last 2 years? It absorbs water over time and is one of the main issues with fade.
