Proberly just need to slow down a bit, only problem being in a hurry to commute home from North Somerset to North Oxfordshire and taking the A303 and A34 can tax my licence at times.

It's just the discomfort after a distance on my forehead and the following headaches that get me that any long distances I have to do in stages with the top up and down which I hate doing.

Bits for retro fitting cruise control just need the nuts and a clip. Seat switch, boot dampers, aircon switch as mine got a scratch and the spare I sourced was from another model.

Off topic but I'm interested to see what you have got upto Lee as I'm not liking the bluish look on these LEDs I have but to light up better than the old CFF ones. I was looking at some of these new COB LED rings which have smaller LEDs and come fitted inside those plastics rings so would not stand ...

Would be nice if the seat did go lower lower but still gives me a good feeling every time the suns out, top down and some country lanes to cruise can't beat it.

I can sympathise with this although I use the OEM mesh blocker I still get a lot of buffeting on my forehead which can lead to headaches after longer journeys. The item used were 131mm in diameter, fitting in front of the glass required some trimming of about 3 LEDs but I installed mine behind the glass no trimming required, just some positioning a little trim of some plastic in the headlight and hot glued in place.

The led ones I and several other people on here and .org have used with either a bit of trimming for outside the lens but mine fitted ok inside the lens ok

Not mine as i have no hardtop but have been spending some time around Shepton Mallet and did go upto Chedder Gorge around that date, experienced hail, sleet, really heavy rain and lovley sunshine my soft top was up and down more times than a whores knickers that day.

I had the same problem with one of mine but some double sided tape after a god clean sorted that but to be honest new ones on ebay are quite cheap if one does eventually drops off at some point. The M version are available (OEM ex BMW) as far as I know. The M version is in fact the only version made by BMW originally. I have no power from the fuse box to the light fitting. I did take the light switch out after the cruise today and opened it up. Quite a mess as you can see I tried to clean up the melted bits to make the sprung contacts work as seen in the second photo but the still no power to the front side light...

I was thinking that the switch possibly could be faulty due to it being seized after the incident but the near rear brake light I would have thought would still function. Well the earth I wired in is good :) just the power issue to resolve. I have traced the grey/violet wire back into the fuse box which connects to another two other grey/violet and a grey/black wire which according to the wiring diagram is for the tail lightshttps://zroadster.org/resources/1999-z3-z3...

O.k Barry but if I have my power off and I want to check a wire for continuity do set the multimeter to ohms and place both electrodes on that wire and if I get a reading the wire is fine?

I've replaced the brown wire, to check the grey/violet wire do you put the positive to that wire and the black to earth on the volts setting on the multimeter? Excuse my ignorance with the volt meter as I've not much experience with them.

Bugger unfortunately not. I have no power going to the near side side, rear and brake light. The brown wire from the side light was fried. I spliced a new section in but no joy maybe I should have completely changed the grey/violet wire in the box as well but will need to trace where it goes to. At ...

Well I've done it and traced back the burnt out brown wire to a common bunch of "Earths" underneath that jungle of wires. Just need to put all the fuses back and see if the left and rear parking lights work now. I'll post my pics later.

I have made a silly mistake of not disconnecting my battery while de wiring the added wires I connected to my side lights for my old angel eyes and ended up making a short resulting with a load of smoke from the wiring loom on the near side to the fuse box, the tape around the loom had burnt through...

If you read some of the reviews on reviewer claimed the finish spotted after a rain storm and could not polish the marks out and the stuff would not peel of as advertised and had to use alcohol to rub it off marring his paint work. Maybe he didn't let it cure long enough though. Interesting idea tho...

I don't know about that I had a blast in mine going uphill and at 130 the front did feel very light which I was suprised by with most of the weight at the front but I suppose if the wind was coming com that direction it would not help.

What a scumbag, you did the right thing though as that shaft could have left a nasty wound, I would still report the incident to the police so they can have a description and might already have him on file. I hope you get sorted soon. There are some hardtops on eBay at the moment.

I was cleaning my engine bay out of leaves and I noticed that the routing of my accelerator cable does not look right, as it looks tightly bent in the routing. Can someone kindly post a photo of there bay showing there cable.
