12k? Seriously? This is the bargain of all time. Amazing car. Effortless power and the noise. My car pulls like a train with 6.2 litres so this must be a step up. Someone needs to buy this quickly. Keep it in the forum people. The engine must be worth 12k alone.

Autovogue just let me know the order is now placed with Hamann and delivery is 6 weeks. Thats good news - I was concerned when the chips were down there may have been a snag there. So we are properly off, payment made and taken, and order placed :) The hardtop needs spraying before fitting so it see...

To be honest I'm with you on the what's the point comment. I always took that view with the standard top. The hamann version gives me the horn though. I don't plan to fit it all the time. Yes Barry you have it right. Metallic grey is most likely the best. I got Autovogue to mail me details of the hardtop including pictures and scope of supply. Yes carbon wrap is an option. Im thinking silver will be difficult to match so perhaps dark grey or black could work.

Decent used bonnets on ebay are £300-400 and then you have to arrange delivery. For that you get a 10+ year old bonnet which needs painting and it may or may not be totally straight. Price I got last Thursday was 1790 + vat delivered to their Staffordshire address. Will need picking up from there. No discount for group buy offerred. They are certainly not a customer focussed business. Getting a price has been hard work.

Manifolds are ceramic coated Barry so no problems there. I have the air inlet for the engine ducted from the bottom of the bumper so it will be cold and a bit of ram effect too I hope. I have been making rear exhausts...bit concerned to get the tips central so ended up making a little wooden jig to get the mounts on the new silencers in the same place as the old... Good job. Do you have aftermarket exhausts? I considered the dual mount on my car but it seemed to me the RHS exhaust would be very close to the ear.

wheres Deano when you need him.... :D His don't count, it has lost its M status :P Hmmm. In the old days my S50 dynoed a lowly 300hp. These days I have more and I do feel sorry for all you ///M owners with a measly 300-350hp. You have to rev the engine so high to get that it must be nearly bursting...

I have just asked them for an all up price for 1 off and 5 off delivered. He is getting prices for me today or tomorrow. He is also checking it fits using the standard fitting kit.

Hardtop comes with defrost, roof liner and all fitting hardware.

Just found a seller ----Brand new - ex Germany - EU.2989.15. ....AND.....it's the real badass one !! That would be ex shipping etc, unless you decided to take a drive across for a vacation, and came back with a hard top fitted.... :D Comes complete with all hardware too...and headliner, and defrost...

When I looked at fitting a twin cover on my car I thought the RHS ear woud foul the exhaust on the //M, or be very close to fouling. Additional problem is the twin cover from BMW has no cooling fins so the LSD may get too hot. There is an aftermarket option (Rouge??) with fins but its expensive.
