The main point of draining from the screen while at speed is the top corners of the glass. You will notice the black sticky plastic on the windscreen frame has damage from the combination of the water, vortex and screen wash there. Any volume of water on the screen will exit at those top corners. Ra...

I have the Black and Decker PAD1200 . It has a small hose that means you can use the crevice tool to get in round the seats, and runs from the cigarette lighter so doesn't need charging or an expensive battery that wears out over time. It doesn't give as good a deep clean as a Dyson connected to the...

OMG!! too much government control... Foglights generally don't blind oncoming traffic, unless it's a high SUV. The law is the law I'm afraid. Highway code rule 226 You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet)....

Re: Ballasts
Change in the law, you say? As I read it on the relevant department's website it is a grey area and proffers advice only because the Construction and Use regulations do not cover the actual light source because they were drawn up when incandescent was the only choise. The EU type approval covers on...

Re: HID and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
The one reason I would be wary about this comes from my experience with my diesel Mk3 Mondeo. I fitted a kit from a reputable supplier - not a cheap Ebay Chinese kit (although it's probably Chinese anyway) - and it works very well with no dazzle or flashing from other drivers. However, it does inte...

Yeah defo warning no hid. When I was setting mine up the amount of heat generated by the STD bulbs was imence. Hids could melt the unit. Not possible. HIDs are more efficient than filament bulbs, so although they are brighter, they will produce less waste heat. Headlights are restrictred to a max o...

Check the Wiring Diagram for your car, but I think the HK amp powers the front speakers too, so you can't just remove it without fitting some kind of a relacement, or you will get no sound from the fronts. As for replacing the HK sub, check out what used to be roadstersounds. Not cheap though. Also ...

This function is called speed dependant volume [GAL]. You can adjust the amount by which the volume is increased as the speed increases from 0-6 by entering the service menu. Entering the service menu is different for different BMW headunits, but it usually involves holding down a MENU button or sim...
